Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Renascentia? It’s tucked away on this tiny side street – Via dei Cimatori – that most tourists completely miss, even though you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Uffizi. I mean, I’ve wandered Florence countless times and only discovered this little pedestrian lane because I was following Google Maps to the hotel. Smart positioning, honestly.
The adults-only thing isn’t just a marketing gimmick here – it actually creates this really sophisticated, almost intimate atmosphere that works perfectly with the building’s Renaissance bones. The staff genuinely seems to know their stuff about Florence too, not just the usual “turn left at the Duomo” directions. When I mentioned I was interested in lesser-known art spots, the guy at reception told me about this tiny chapel near Santo Spirito that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms have this understated elegance – think restored period details mixed with modern comfort, not the sterile luxury hotel vibe you get at some places. Actually, the bathroom in my room had these gorgeous original stone elements that made me feel like I was staying in a proper Florentine palazzo (which, knowing this area, I probably was).
What really sets this place apart is how it handles the whole “being in the absolute center of everything” situation. Because look, this location is insane – you can see the Palazzo Vecchio tower from some windows, and the Ponte Vecchio is maybe a five-minute stroll. But here’s the thing about Florence’s historic center: it can get absolutely mobbed during the day, especially in summer. The genius of Renascentia is that once you duck into that little entrance on Via dei Cimatori, you’re in this calm bubble removed from all the chaos. The street itself is so narrow and tucked away that tour groups don’t really flow through it like they do on the main drags. I could step out, grab an espresso at the little bar around the corner (locals go there, which is always a good sign), and be back in my quiet room within minutes. The soundproofing is solid too – crucial when you’re this close to the action. I slept better here than at hotels twice the price in quieter neighborhoods, honestly. And that 9.6 rating? Yeah, I get it. This is one of those places where every detail feels intentional, from the way they handle check-in to the quality of the linens. It’s not trying to be flashy or revolutionary – it’s just doing the boutique hotel thing really, really well in one of the most incredible locations you could ask for.

Wonderful location. We loved staying here. Small hotel with staff that seemed to love what they are doing. All our needs were anticipated. We asked about a restaurant suggestion for my birthday and found a cake and champagne in our room later. So unexpected. Have to mention the great breakfast, buffet and to order menu. Great start to each day.

Amazing service from the staff. Loved the soaker tub and shower. Rooms were super pretty too. Loved the fresh squeezed orange juice and breakfast. And the fact that it was adults only was great.

Such a great location, on a side street in the central part of old town. The best part is walking from the train station to hotel and seeing the Duomo right in front of you- it will make you gasp in awe at its size and history and presence.
Hotel room was modern and hi-tech & convenient. Great foam mattress bed!Susan from Luxembourg (9/10)
