Not just the obvious stuff, but they’ll tell you which osteria on Via dei Neri has the best ribollita (it’s the one with no sign, naturally), or that if you want to see the Duomo without fighting crowds, go at 7:30 AM when the light is incredible anyway. They steered me away from the touristy leather markets and toward this tiny workshop near Santo Spirito where the guy still hand-stitches everything. The concierge actually drew me a little map showing how to cut through the back streets to avoid the Ponte Vecchio chaos – saved me probably hours over a long weekend. This is the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying with knowledgeable locals rather than just… hotel staff, you know? The 9.2 rating makes total sense when you experience that level of genuine helpfulness. Sure, it’s not the cheapest option in Florence, but when you’re spending your days wandering between the Bargello and Palazzo Pitti, then coming back to a place that feels like a sophisticated home base rather than just another hotel room – it’s worth it.
