Podere Pievina Delle Corti – Dimora di Campagna
You know that feeling when you stumble onto something special that you almost don’t want to tell anyone about? That’s exactly what happened when I first pulled up the winding gravel drive to Podere Pievina Delle Corti. Honestly, I almost missed the turnoff from Via Podere Pievina – it’s tucked away in the rolling hills outside Sinalunga, and GPS gets a bit wonky once you leave the main road. But that’s part of the charm, I suppose. This isn’t some cookie-cutter resort you’ll find plastered all over Instagram. It’s a genuine dimora di campagna, which basically means a countryside estate, and the moment you see those honey-colored stone buildings emerging from the cypress trees, you get why Tuscany has been breaking hearts for centuries.
The property itself – well, it’s one of those places that makes you immediately start planning your next visit before you’ve even unpacked. The owners have this incredible knack for making everything feel effortless, from the seamless check-in (they actually remember your name and preferences) to the way they’ve restored the original farmhouse buildings without losing any of their character. I mean, you’re still sleeping in rooms with thick stone walls and wooden beams, but the beds are ridiculously comfortable and the bathrooms are modern enough that you won’t miss home. The pool area is where I spent most of my mornings – it’s positioned perfectly to catch the sunrise over the Val di Chiana, and since most guests don’t surface until after 9, you’ve got this spectacular view pretty much to yourself if you’re an early riser.
What really sets this place apart though is how they’ve managed to feel both luxurious and completely unpretentious at the same time. The staff knows the area inside and out – they’ll point you toward the best local trattorias (skip the touristy spots in town and head to where they send you), and they’re genuinely excited to share their favorite hiking trails through the olive groves. The location puts you about twenty minutes from Montepulciano, which is perfect for wine tasting, and you’re close enough to both Siena and Arezzo for day trips without dealing with the crowds that descend on places like San Gimignano. Parking is never an issue, which anyone who’s driven in Tuscany will appreciate, and the evenings are blissfully quiet – just cicadas and the occasional church bell from the village below. Actually, that 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there. It’s the kind of place that ruins you for other hotels because everything else starts to feel either too fancy or not special enough.

Grazia and Oscar are the most lovely hosts you can think of.
The house is beautiful furnished and the garden with pool is the perfect place to relaxe. Homemade breakfast was outstanding.
We will definetely come back!
An amazing spot for people who want to relax but also for those being on the road a lot that like to come home to a peaceful place after a long day of sightseeing.
Grazia's and Oscar's (and the animals') hospitality and warmth and the feeling of living in such an old house with a lot of history are absolutely unique.
The medieval house is an absolute gem, exuding history and charm in every corner. It's like stepping back in time while still enjoying all the modern comforts. Each morning, I was treated to a true Italian breakfast that left me absolutely speechless. Homemade pastries, freshly brewed coffee, and a variety of local delicacies – it was a culinary journey we won't forget.
The true treasure of Podere Pievina Delle Corti is undoubtedly the garden. Lush, vibrant, and impeccably manicured, it was the perfect place to relax, unwind, and soak in the beauty of the Tuscan countryside. We enjoyed lazy afternoons under the shade of trees, sipping local wine and feeling utterly content.
During our stay at Podere Pievina Delle Corti, Grazia, our wonderful host, recommended some nearby cities and places to explore in the stunning Tuscan region, all easily accessible by car.
The fluffy cats and dog added a charming touch to our stay. We can't wait to return and experience this beautiful place again. Grazie mille!
