First Impressions

Walking into Palazzo Roselli Cecconi Apartments feels like stepping into someone’s beautifully restored Florentine palazzo — which, honestly, is exactly what you’re doing. The building sits right on Borgo Santa Croce in the Santa Croce district, and I mean right in the thick of things. You know that feeling when you find a place that’s perfectly positioned but somehow still feels like a local secret? That’s this place. The four-star property manages to blend historical charm with modern comfort in a way that doesn’t feel forced or touristy.

Location & Neighborhood

The location here is genuinely exceptional — couples rate it a perfect 10, and after spending time in Florence, I completely understand why. You’re literally in the heart of the historic center, which means the Duomo, Uffizi, and Ponte Vecchio are all within easy walking distance. But here’s what I really love: the Santa Croce area has this authentic neighborhood vibe that some other central areas have lost to tourism. There are local cafes where Florentines actually grab their morning espresso, and the evening passeggiata along these streets feels genuinely Italian rather than performative.

The Apartments

Each apartment feels like you’re staying in a carefully curated Florentine home rather than a standard hotel room. The spaces are thoughtfully designed with period details — think original frescoes and restored ceiling beams — but they’ve been updated with everything you actually need. The kitchen areas are well-equipped if you want to shop at the local markets (and trust me, you will), though honestly, with so many incredible restaurants within a two-minute walk, I found myself cooking less than I’d planned. The bathrooms are modern and spacious, which isn’t always a given in historic Florentine buildings.

Daily Life Here

What struck me most was how naturally you slip into a rhythm here. Mornings start with coffee from the little bar around the corner — the staff will point you toward their favorites. The building itself is quiet despite being so central, which I think comes down to the solid construction of these old palazzos. You can easily walk to the Basilica di Santa Croce in about three minutes, but you’re also perfectly positioned for day trips if you want to explore beyond the city. The nearby parking options are limited (this is Florence, after all), but the location makes a car completely unnecessary anyway.

Why Guests Love It

The combination of authentic atmosphere and prime location really sets this place apart from typical hotel experiences. You get the independence and space of having your own Florentine apartment while being steps away from everything that matters. The property’s 9.9 location score isn’t just about proximity to tourist sites — though that’s certainly part of it — it’s about being embedded in a neighborhood that still feels genuinely Florentine. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway or just want to experience Florence like a temporary local, this palazzo delivers that perfect balance of comfort, authenticity, and access that makes a trip memorable.

I have to say this apratment is one small historical part of Florence itself. Thanks to Ksenia's tour of this apratment (and upgrade~ XD), it makes this apartment more meaningful and get you back to hundreds of years back to think about the life in florence. Although the history of this apartment is very long, but the decoration inside is very new, especailly the bathroom. This will make you very comfortable. And another big thanks, I have to give Ksenia, she gave us a very detialed introduction about the life around this apartment and recommended many places for us to go. And also very patient to tell us all the details in this apartment. So if you are a family trip and come to Florence for some historical stories this apatment is defenitely a place you cannot miss. Thanks Ksenia again~也因此推荐给更多的国人来体验~感受不一样的佛罗伦萨~

The location in Santa Croce is wonderful - we were minutes away from most of the sights and great restaurants and shops. Xenia was a very charming and helpful hostess. She met us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the gorgeous rooms and a history of this wonderful building. The Palazzo is very comfortable and the beds were divine. As one who has trouble sleeping, the nice sheets, quality mattress, quiet space and ability to shut out all light enabled me to get a good night's sleep every night. I was impressed to see the Dyson blow drier and divinely scented Bulgari bath products. We were pleasantly surprised to learn there is a small elevator - a rarity in Italy. This stunning 16th century palace is so beautiful and I couldn't stop staring at the incredible ceilings. I highly recommend staying at the Palazzo.

The apartment was literally in a palace. Beautiful high ceilings, many original features, and it was very spacious for 4 people. Everything was clean and well maintained. We really appreciated the clothes washer after a week of travel. Ksenia was very helpful to point out where things were on a map and gave recommendations for restaurants.

We loved staying in this historic location close to all the key historic sites in Florence. The living space was huge and the bedrooms were also a great size. These were the most comfortable beds of our trip! The host, Ksenia, was extremely kind and helpful. We appreciated her guidance on restaurants, grocery store, and gelato.

The apartment is beautiful and large. We were traveling with 3 friends and it provided a lot of space. It was also fun to stay in an old palace. The character of the building, the rooms, the courtyard, and the decor really added to our Florence experience. Also, Ksenia was a wonderful host. She communicated well, was prompt and accommodating, and provided wonderful recommendations for restaurants.

We also loved visiting and shopping at Aqua Flor. The sales staff were so knowledgeable and patient as we explored all of their scents. It was fun having the store on the first floor of the palace.
