The breakfast situation is simple but solid – fresh pastries, decent coffee, nothing elaborate but it does the job and gets you fueled up for a day of walking around those cobblestones. And speaking of walking, everything you want to see is right there – the Bargello is around the corner, Santa Croce is a pleasant ten-minute stroll, and you can weave through the Oltrarno without dealing with any buses or taxis. I found myself coming back between museum visits just because it was so easy, which is something you really appreciate when your feet are screaming after hours of sightseeing. The whole experience just works – it’s that sweet spot where you get the authentic Florence vibe without sacrificing comfort, and the 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve actually stayed there.
