Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about MyFlorenceHoliday Gold Bridge? The address – Via dei Bardi 39 – which honestly doesn’t mean much until you realize you’re literally steps from the Oltrarno district, the artisan heart of Florence that most tourists rush past on their way to the Uffizi. I mean, you walk out the door and you’re in this maze of leather workshops and tiny cafés where locals actually drink their morning espresso.
The hotel itself sits in what feels like a perfectly restored Florentine building – you can tell they put real money into the renovation without going overboard with the fancy stuff. The rooms have that sort of understated elegance that works well after you’ve been tramping around cobblestones all day. What I really appreciated (and this is something you don’t think about until you’re there) is how quiet it gets at night. Via dei Bardi isn’t one of those streets where Vespa engines are revving at 2 AM, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re trying to recover from climbing the Duomo dome. The staff actually knows the neighborhood – not just the big tourist spots but little things like which bakery opens earliest or where to find decent wine that isn’t marked up 300% for tourists.
Here’s the thing about the location that makes it special: you’re on the “other side” of the Arno, but it’s a five-minute walk to Ponte Vecchio. Five minutes the other direction and you’re at Santo Spirito square, which transforms into this lovely local scene every evening – families with kids, old guys playing cards, the kind of Florence you came to see but didn’t know how to find. The hotel sits right in that sweet spot where you feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. Check-in was smooth (they actually remember your name, which is rarer than it should be), and they’ve got that Florence hotel thing down where they’re helpful without being pushy about restaurant recommendations. The building’s got character – thick walls, the kind of windows that frame the city just right – but the amenities work like they should in a solid 4-star place. Honestly, with a 9.1 rating, they’re doing something right, and after staying there, I get it. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Florence, but it nails what you actually want: a comfortable base in a real neighborhood where you can disappear into the rhythm of the city.

Great location. Right in the middle where all the action is, ie sightseeing, shopping and eating/drinking. Hosts were charming, eloquent, articulate and very helpful. They recommended plenty of places to eat and drink. Rooms were very spacious. Would love to go back there one day.
