Mh Florence Hotel & Spa
First Impressions
Walking up to Mh Florence Hotel & Spa on Via Luigi Alamanni, you immediately get that feeling of being right in the thick of things without the chaos. This four-star property sits perfectly in the Santa Maria Novella district — honestly, it’s one of those spots where you can actually hear the city humming around you. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention, which I actually appreciate more than those over-the-top hotel facades you see everywhere.
Location That Actually Makes Sense
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Santa Maria Novella train station, which means you can dump your bags and start exploring Florence without dealing with taxis or figuring out public transport. The Duomo? Maybe a 10-minute stroll through streets that are actually pleasant to walk. I mean, couples seem to get this — they consistently rate the location around 8.7, and honestly, I can see why. You’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the tourist madness that you can actually sleep at night.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was… well, it felt thoughtfully designed rather than just decorated. Nothing too flashy, but everything worked exactly as it should. The beds are genuinely comfortable — not that hotel-firm nonsense that leaves you feeling like you slept on cardboard. What really got me was the attention to details you don’t always notice right away, like proper lighting for reading and outlets where you actually need them. The spa facilities add this nice touch of relaxation after spending hours wandering through museums and cobblestone streets.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is the kind of spread that actually makes sense for travelers. They do both American and buffet style, so whether you want familiar comfort food or want to try something different, you’re covered. I appreciated that they don’t just throw together a random assortment of pastries and call it continental — there’s real substance here. Plus, having parking available right at the hotel is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving in Italy, because finding a spot in Florence can be… well, let’s just say it’s not fun.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but it gets the fundamentals so right that you end up having a better time than at hotels that cost twice as much. The staff seems to understand that travelers want helpful information without being hovered over, and the whole place has this relaxed efficiency that makes your Florence experience smoother. You know what really sold me? After three days here, I felt like I was staying somewhere that actually enhanced my trip rather than just providing a place to crash. That 8.6 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been here.

Excellent breakfast
Lovely area to relax at the pool
My dates and ended up ringing the hotel, Iona on the desk was so helpful and made sure everything was sorted out which made a massive difference to our stay! Would definitely recommend and stay here again!
Swimming pool was fab - not many sun loungers, but we managed to get one when we visited.
Room was great - small mini fridge was welcome, and it was very high tech with the lighting etc.
Friendly staff made the stay pleasant too.
