Mansarda Isabella
Greve in Chianti, ItalyFirst Impressions
Tucked away on a quiet street in Greve in Chianti, Mansarda Isabella feels more like discovering a friend’s perfectly appointed guest suite than checking into typical accommodation. The moment you pull up — and yes, there’s actually free parking right on site, which is honestly a godsend in this part of Tuscany — you realize this isn’t your standard hotel experience. It’s intimate, thoughtfully designed, and sits in one of those spots where you immediately understand why couples keep rating the location so highly.
The Chianti Setting
Greve in Chianti is one of those towns that manages to feel authentically Tuscan without being overrun by tour buses, and Mansarda Isabella captures that perfectly. You’re walking distance from the town’s triangular piazza with its weekend markets, yet far enough from the main drag that evenings feel genuinely peaceful. The surrounding hills roll away in every direction — I mean, this is proper wine country, and you can actually see vineyards from the property. It’s the kind of location where you’ll find yourself taking evening strolls just because the light hits the cypress trees just right.
The Space Itself
The accommodation lives up to its name — mansarda means “attic” in Italian, and there’s something wonderfully cozy about the sloped ceilings and intimate proportions. Everything feels carefully considered rather than cookie-cutter, from the way natural light filters through the windows to the local touches that remind you exactly where you are. You know what strikes you most? It’s quiet. Really quiet. After a day of wine tasting or exploring nearby San Gimignano, you’ll appreciate having a space that actually lets you unwind.
Practical Perks
Beyond the obvious charm, Mansarda Isabella gets the practical stuff right too. That free parking I mentioned earlier — it’s actually a big deal when you’re planning day trips to Florence or Siena, both totally doable from here. The hosts clearly know their area well and can point you toward the kind of local wineries and restaurants that don’t show up in every guidebook. Plus, being in Greve means you’re positioned perfectly for exploring the Chianti Classico region without feeling like you’re constantly driving.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.9 rating, Mansarda Isabella obviously does something right, and honestly, it comes down to authenticity. This isn’t trying to be a grand Tuscan villa or a sleek modern hotel — it’s just a really well-executed, intimate place to stay in one of Italy’s most beautiful regions. Couples especially seem to get it, probably because there’s something inherently romantic about the setting and the attention to detail. You’re not just staying somewhere in Tuscany; you’re staying somewhere that feels like it belongs here, which makes all the difference when you’re trying to actually experience a place rather than just pass through it.
To book hotel in Tuscany for harvest season, travelers claim vineyard suites pairing grape stomps with lantern-lit dinners.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: The shower was a little basic/the main part was broken.
What could be improved: Someone was mowing the lawn from the morning so it was hard to sleep in :(
Apartment is large, excellently equipped with high quality furniture and fittings throughout. Huge kitchen with everything you may need. Milk, an Italian Breakfast.
Amazing view for sunset and multiple rooms through the apartment made our time very relaxing. A drink at Sunset, second night with our hosts and then we would watch a movie/read books in the living room before bed.
Will come back soon.
What could be improved: ONLY that we could not take Mirta (their dog) home with us.
What could be improved: I’m tall, the roof is low, but that’s just funny and not a criticism.
What could be improved: make sure to bring some food
What could be improved: The drive up to the property can be a bit daunting for those unused to driving Tuscan hillside roads.
What could be improved: There's nothing that I didn't like about this place.
