Mamo Florence – Zita Apartment
First Impressions
Walking up Via San Zanobi, you’ll spot Mamo Florence – Zita Apartment tucked into one of those classic Florentine buildings that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto a movie set. The four-star property sits right in the thick of things — I mean, you’re literally nine steps from some of the city’s most authentic neighborhoods. What struck me immediately was how this place manages to feel both intimate and sophisticated without trying too hard. It’s the kind of spot where couples naturally gravitate, and honestly, I can see why the romance factor runs high here.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about this location — it’s genuinely spectacular, and I’m not just saying that because of the 8.6 location score. You’re positioned perfectly between the Duomo and San Lorenzo Market, which means you can grab fresh produce for breakfast and still make it to Brunelleschi’s dome before the crowds hit. The San Lorenzo area has this wonderful local energy that most tourists miss entirely. You know what I love? You can walk to the Medici Chapels in about three minutes, but you’re also surrounded by actual Florentines going about their daily lives — buying groceries, chatting with neighbors, that sort of authentic street life that makes Florence feel real rather than like a theme park.
The Apartment Experience
Mamo Florence – Zita Apartment delivers exactly what you’d hope for in an upscale Florence stay. The space feels thoughtfully designed rather than just decorated — there’s a warmth here that you don’t always find in boutique properties. Everything works smoothly, from the modern amenities to the way natural light filters through those tall Italian windows. I particularly appreciated how they’ve maintained the building’s historical character while ensuring everything functions perfectly for modern travelers. The attention to detail shows in small ways that matter when you’re settling in for more than just a night or two.
Daily Life in Florence
What makes staying here special is how easily you slip into a Florence routine. Morning espresso at the corner bar becomes second nature when it’s literally around the corner. The Central Market is close enough that you might actually cook a meal with those incredible Italian ingredients — something that feels impossible when you’re staying in more touristy areas. Evenings are particularly lovely because you can wander home through streets that feel genuinely Florentine rather than like outdoor shopping malls. The neighborhood has this perfect balance where you’re close to everything important but far enough from the crowds to breathe.
Why Guests Love It
Couples consistently rate this place highly, and after spending time here, it’s obvious why. There’s something about the combination of the refined apartment setting and the authentic neighborhood that creates exactly the right atmosphere for a romantic Florence getaway. You’re not fighting tourist crowds to get home, but you’re also not sacrificing access to the city’s incredible art and architecture. The 8.1 rating reflects what I experienced — a property that delivers on its promises without any unpleasant surprises. It’s Florence the way you imagine it should be, but with all the modern comforts that make a trip truly relaxing.

Guest Reviews
The apartment was about a 10min walk to the Duomo and we found it to be an easy walk, so much so that we often came back to the apartment for lunch to relax a bit when it was hot in the middle of the day.
