First Impressions

Walking up Costa San Giorgio to reach Le Mille e una Notte EXCLUSIVE SUITE FIRENZE feels like you’re discovering one of Florence‘s best-kept secrets. The narrow medieval street winds uphill from the Oltrarno district, and honestly, you might question if you’re going the right way — until you arrive at this intimate boutique property that immediately feels special. The name translates to “A Thousand and One Nights,” which gives you a hint of the romantic atmosphere waiting inside.

Location & Neighborhood

This spot is absolutely perfect if you want to feel like a local while still being close to everything that matters. You’re technically in the Oltrarno, which means you’ll have authentic trattorias and artisan workshops right at your doorstep, but the Ponte Vecchio is just a pleasant five-minute stroll downhill. What I love about Costa San Giorgio is how quiet it gets in the evenings — you know how touristy Florence can be, but up here you’ll actually hear birds singing instead of tour groups. The climb back up after dinner is a bit of a workout, I’ll admit, but the views over the city make it worth every step.

The Suite Experience

The suites here really live up to that “exclusive” part of the name. Each one feels more like staying in a carefully curated Florentine apartment than a typical hotel room. The design blends period details — think exposed beams and original stone walls — with modern comforts that actually work well together. I was impressed by how much thought went into the lighting; there are enough options to create the perfect ambiance whether you’re reading or just enjoying a glass of wine. The bathrooms are particularly well done, with quality fixtures that feel substantial without being over-the-top.

Romantic Appeal

It’s easy to see why couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways. The whole property has this intimate, almost secretive feel that makes you want to whisper and hold hands. Many of the suites have views that stretch across Florence’s terracotta rooftops, and watching the sunset from your window while the city lights start twinkling below is genuinely magical. The staff seems to understand the vibe they’re going for — they’re attentive without being intrusive, which means you can focus on each other rather than feeling like you’re being managed.

Why Guests Love It

What sets Le Mille e una Notte apart is how it manages to feel both exclusive and welcoming at the same time. You’re staying somewhere that feels authentically Florentine — not some international chain that could be anywhere — but with all the comfort and service you’d want. The location really is the star here; you get that perfect balance of being away from the crowds but close enough to walk to the Duomo or Uffizi when you want to. Plus, there’s something satisfying about having your own little retreat to return to after a day of sightseeing, especially one that feels this thoughtfully put together.

Tuscany’s hotels pair barrel-aging cellars, fresco breakfasts, and concierge-led Siena cathedral climbs.

Great location with Spectacular Views Location was great, right down the road is the Ponte Vecchio with many shops, and an easy walk into the main town centre. Walk to Duomo, restaurants etc. There is a lift in the apartment building for ease of getting into the apartment, and a coffee shop at end of street (5 mins walk) for good coffee which opens early. Washing machine with washing liquid so easy to wash clothes. Great 3 bed apartment. The views of Florence from the apartment were spectacular.

What could be improved: Lots of stairs or steep hill to get to the apartment, ok for me but my parents in their late 70's struggled with the hill/stairs to get to the apartment. Other than that all good.

Comfortable and roomy apartment with beautiful views in the heart of Florence. The location was excellent, across the river from the Ufizzi and away from the crowds, but a short walk from the Ponte Vecchio. There were beautiful views from the windows. The living/dining area was spacious and with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, there was plenty of room for four adults. The elevator was helpful for taking luggage up and down, because there were three flights of stairs to the apartment.

Best views and best place for family and friends near the Ponte Vecchio I love the whole place. the location is perfect and there is a view from every single window. WE loved that the lift would take us up directly to our room. There was plenty of space for my whole family with the place having three rooms and two bathrooms. There is a washing machine in the kitchen that helped us out, but we did not know if there was a drying rack, so we placed our clothes around the rooms. My family loved lounging in the living room watching movies looking out at the views of Florence or having dinner all together.. Host was also very responsive and accommodating to us. Even allowed us a later checkout so we could have a morning to sleep in. They are the best!

What could be improved: We did not know how to use the stovetop. but i think that was just us not knowing how to use the appliance. Host tried working with us and their doorman's schedule so he could come show us but our schedule was too full.

Afforable apartment, great views, walkable to sights. Fantastic location. Gobsmacking fabulous Views in 4 directions. Very quiet and peaceful. Spacious. Super clean. Walkable to all historic sights. Supermarket 2 mins away. Several Restaurant 2 mins away.

What could be improved: Challenge with large luggage to get this up the cobble street to the door. Elevator works perfectly and opens into apartment. Road outside apartment is very narrow and a large car would be challenging to drive here. Rather park at Garage Ponte Vecchio and walk your luggage to the apartment.
