Le Mille e una Notte EXCLUSIVE SUITE FIRENZE
Florence, ItalyLook, I’ve stayed in plenty of Florence hotels, but Le Mille e una Notte on Costa San Giorgio is something else entirely. The name means “A Thousand and One Nights” and honestly, it fits – this place feels like stepping into some luxurious Arabian fantasy, except you’re perched on one of Florence’s most charming hillside streets. Costa San Giorgio is this narrow, winding road that most tourists never find (it’s tucked behind the Oltrarno district), which means you get that authentic Florence feeling without the crowds. The street itself is lined with these gorgeous medieval buildings, and you’ll hear church bells from Santo Spirito drifting up the hill in the evenings.
What really got me about this place is the attention to detail – I mean, they’ve clearly put serious thought into making each suite feel special. The décor has this rich, almost theatrical quality with deep jewel tones and ornate furnishings that somehow manage to feel opulent without being over the top. You know what I loved? The bathrooms actually have proper space and lighting, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many Florence hotels mess this up. The suites are genuinely spacious too – rare for the historic center where most places feel like converted closets. From the windows, you get these incredible views over the city, and if you’re lucky enough to snag a room facing north, you’ll see the Duomo peeking through the rooftops.
The location is pure gold if you ask me. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Ponte Vecchio, but far enough up the hill that you escape the tourist madness. There’s this little alimentari (local grocery) right down the street where the owner, Giuseppe, will help you pick out proper prosciutto – the kind of neighborhood spot that makes you feel like you’re living in Florence, not just visiting. Parking is tricky, like everywhere in the centro storico, but they’ll sort you out with directions to the closest garage. One thing to note – the street can get a bit lively on weekend nights since there are some good restaurants nearby, but it’s more charming than annoying. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay memorable, and they know their Florence history, which comes in handy when you’re trying to figure out which museums are worth the lines. With a 9 rating, this place has earned its reputation, and after staying there, I get why people keep coming back.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Lots of stairs or steep hill to get to the apartment, ok for me but my parents in their late 70's struggled with the hill/stairs to get to the apartment. Other than that all good.
What could be improved: We did not know how to use the stovetop. but i think that was just us not knowing how to use the appliance. Host tried working with us and their doorman's schedule so he could come show us but our schedule was too full.
Location is perfect
What could be improved: The bed had to be folded up against the wall to convert into the sofa but it was easy to do
What could be improved: Trying to figure out parking situation with a 10AM flight
What could be improved: Challenge with large luggage to get this up the cobble street to the door. Elevator works perfectly and opens into apartment. Road outside apartment is very narrow and a large car would be challenging to drive here. Rather park at Garage Ponte Vecchio and walk your luggage to the apartment.
