Lanfredini Firenze
Florence, ItalyYou know what struck me first about Lanfredini Firenze? The address actually means something here – Lungarno Guicciardini isn’t just some random street, it’s right along the Arno with those classic Florentine views that make you stop mid-conversation. I mean, you’re literally in Santo Spirito, which honestly feels like the Florence that locals still claim as their own. While everyone’s fighting crowds around the Duomo, you’re a five-minute walk from Piazza Santo Spirito where old-timers still play cards at outdoor tables and that morning market happens on Saturdays (trust me, the porchetta sandwich from the corner vendor is worth setting an alarm for).
The hotel itself has this thing where it feels appropriately Florentine without trying too hard – you know how some places go overboard with the Renaissance theme? Not here. The rooms have that solid, lived-in elegance that actually makes sense in a 4-star place. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re right in the thick of things. The Oltrarno side of the river just works differently – less tour group chaos, more actual neighborhood life. You’ll hear church bells instead of bus engines, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re trying to sleep off a long day of walking those cobblestones. The staff seems to get that people staying here probably aren’t first-time visitors (though if you are, they won’t make you feel like it), and they’re genuinely helpful with the kind of local intel that matters – like which gelato place has the shortest lines or when the Boboli Gardens are actually worth the entry fee.
Here’s the thing about location that guidebooks won’t tell you – being on this side of the Arno means you’re walking distance from both the main attractions and the spots where Florentines actually hang out. Piazza della Passera is basically around the corner, and if you’ve never had an aperitivo there at sunset, well, you’re missing something special. The whole area has this energy that’s hard to describe – it’s tourist-friendly but not tourist-dependent, if that makes sense. Plus, with a 9.6 rating, clearly other people are figuring out what locals have known for years about this little pocket of the city. It’s the kind of place where you start planning your next Florence trip before you’ve even checked out, which I suppose is the whole point.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Nothing. Just don’t expect a grand entrance. Once you get up to the apartment it is just as pictured- lovely!
What could be improved: It is a bit expensive, but for a whole family, worth it.
What could be improved: N/A
What could be improved: We were eight adults and just a couple of small additional things would have made the apartment perfect for us: hooks on the bedroom doors for coats etc; mirrors in the bedrooms; extra pillows. But these are small things.
What could be improved: Nothing…it was lovely and we would come back again!
The comfiest place we have stayed as a family of 5!
The kitchen setup/ the hotel like robes … so many small Touches! Oh and the aircon was amazing!
What could be improved: Nothing! It was perfect! The kitchen was generously setup to be able to cook and enjoy the small things while travelling!
What could be improved: There is nothing I would have changed about the place besides being able to stay there longer. Maria was great and communicated with me over text messages and everything about the house was perfect and safe.
What could be improved: The beds were a bit hard,
What could be improved: everything was perfect.
