Forcoli isn’t one of those tourist-packed hill towns, which is exactly why I loved staying here. You’re genuinely in rural Tuscany, surrounded by olive groves and rolling hills, but still close enough to day-trip anywhere you want. The locals at the nearby café (about a two-minute walk) were chatting with me in broken English about the best routes to Pisa — which, by the way, is only about 30 minutes away. Couples seem to absolutely adore this spot, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about having this peaceful corner of Italy mostly to yourself.

The Room Experience

My room had those thick stone walls that keep everything cool even in summer heat, and the windows opened onto views that looked like a Renaissance painting. I mean, the attention to detail here is remarkable — hand-painted ceramics, antique furniture that’s actually comfortable, and linens that felt expensive. The bathroom was modern without losing that old-world character, which honestly can be tricky to pull off. What really impressed me was how quiet everything was at night; you hear crickets and maybe a distant church bell, but that’s about it.

Morning Rituals

The breakfast situation here is actually fantastic. They do this Italian buffet that changes slightly each day — fresh pastries, local cheeses, perfectly ripe fruit, and coffee that puts most hotel coffee to shame. On my last morning, I was running late for a day trip to Volterra, and they packed me a breakfast to go without me even asking. Little touches like that make all the difference. The restaurant area opens onto a terrace where you can eat outside when the weather’s nice, which was most mornings during my stay.

Here’s the thing about La casa delle Rondini — it gets the balance right between authentic Italian hospitality and modern comfort. The free parking right on site is a godsend if you’re exploring Tuscany by car (which you should be), and the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay memorable. I watched them spend twenty minutes drawing a custom map for another guest, marking family-run wineries and hidden viewpoints. It’s that kind of place where you feel like you’re staying with friends rather than just checking into another hotel. The 9.2 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there — it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top, just exceptionally good at what it does.

  Perfect place to relax in Toscana with Terrace and garden. The swimming-pool is awesome. The appartment it is new inside, very clean and confortable. You are 30 min to Pisa, 50 min to Florencia, 1 hour to the cost and 45 San Gimignano.

  Alles. Mooi uitzicht, heerlijk zwembad ( zat een beetje zout in wat ik normaal nier wil maar geen last van gehad). Harde bedden waar ik het liefst op slaap en in elke kamer afzonderlijke airco. Kortom super locatie.

  La struttura offre un bel panorama e si trova in una bella posizione per visitare le più belle città vicine..l’host è stato perfetto..nonostante non fosse in struttura è stata tempestiva sia nel farci entrare e spiegarci tutto sia nell’arrivare in pochissimo tempo a risolvere un piccolo problema..piscina pulita e in bella posizione..pulizia top..insomma ci è dispiaciuto soggiornare solo per una notte..
