Hotel Executive
You know what struck me first about Hotel Executive? It’s tucked away on Via Nazareno Orlandi, which honestly feels like you’ve stumbled into residential Siena rather than tourist central β and that’s actually brilliant. I mean, you’re still walking distance from the Duomo and Piazza del Campo, but you escape that constant hum of tour groups that echoes through the main streets. The morning quiet here is something else, just locals heading to work and the occasional delivery truck rumbling over those ancient stones.
The hotel itself has this understated confidence that I really appreciate. It’s not trying to be some palazzo conversion dripping with frescoes (though honestly, sometimes you just want reliable wifi and a proper shower, right?). The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully modern β they’ve clearly put money into the important stuff like comfortable beds and blackout curtains that actually work. The air conditioning is solid too, which you’ll thank them for if you’re visiting during those sweltering July weeks when Siena turns into a beautiful brick oven. I stayed on the third floor and barely heard any street noise, though the elevator’s got this charming Italian personality where you sort of negotiate with it rather than just press buttons.
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their city. The guy at reception β I think his name was Marco β didn’t just hand me a tourist map and send me off. He actually explained which restaurants locals go to (there’s this little place around the corner on Via di CittΓ that doesn’t even have a sign), and more importantly, which ones to avoid during the evening passeggiata when they jack up prices for the crowds. The breakfast setup is pretty solid too, nothing fancy but proper espresso and those flaky cornetti that disappear fast if you’re not down early enough. They’ve got tables outside in a small courtyard that catches the morning sun perfectly β I actually lingered there way longer than planned, watching neighbors walk their dogs and shopkeepers opening up for the day. That 8.4 rating makes complete sense to me; it’s the kind of place that does everything well without any dramatic flourishes, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re spending your days getting wonderfully lost in Siena’s maze of medieval streets.

Guest Reviews
Fast check in. Got to the room and....wait! I got an upgrade!!! I booked a single room, but got a double! That was a very pleasant surprise π.
Very comfortable bed and high quality linen. Spacious room and bathroom.
Great breakfast with many different choices.
Short walk to Centro storico.
But I think the main value are the people who work there.
A special thank you to senior Riccardo, the manager, a warm and welcoming person.
And, of course, a big thank you to the ladies in the breakfast room - all polite and always smiling.
The place is only as good as the people who work there and my stay was very pleasant thanks to all the staff!
24 hours tea/ coffee in the lobby area is nice offering.
