Mine faced the piazza directly, and I spent way too much time just watching the street performers and tour groups shuffle around below. There’s something almost meditative about it, especially in the early morning when the light hits the cathedral facade just right. The beds are comfortable enough, though the walls aren’t exactly soundproof – you’ll hear some street noise, but it’s more atmospheric than annoying. Actually, the church bells become weirdly soothing after the first night. One thing though – if you’re driving, forget about parking nearby. The whole area is restricted, and the hotel staff will point you toward a garage that’s about a 10-minute walk away. Not a huge deal, but factor that into your arrival time. What really impressed me was how the place handles the constant flow of tourists outside without making guests feel like they’re staying in the middle of a theme park. The entrance is discrete enough that you can slip in and out without getting swept up in the Duomo crowds, and the 9.5 rating honestly makes sense when you consider how rare it is to find a place that nails both location and execution like this.
