First Impressions

Walking up to Firenze Suite on Via Nuova de’Caccini, you immediately notice how the building fits seamlessly into this historic corner of Florence. The entrance sits right at the intersection with Via della Pergola — honestly, it’s one of those spots where you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something locals have been keeping to themselves. This four-star boutique property doesn’t scream for attention, which I actually love about it. The understated elegance of the facade tells you everything you need to know about what’s waiting inside.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re in the San Marco district, which means you can walk to the Duomo in about ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your door. The Accademia Gallery — where Michelangelo’s David lives — is literally around the corner. I mean, you could roll out of bed and be face-to-face with Renaissance masterpieces before your morning coffee kicks in. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of authentic Florentine life and cultural heavyweights, plus there are some fantastic local trattorias tucked into the side streets that most visitors never find.

The Accommodations

Each room here feels more like a carefully curated apartment than a typical hotel space. The design strikes this nice balance between contemporary comfort and nods to Florence’s artistic heritage — think clean lines with subtle Renaissance touches that don’t feel forced or theme-park-ish. The bathrooms are particularly well done, with quality fixtures and plenty of space to actually spread out your stuff. What really impressed me was the attention to soundproofing; despite being in the city center, nights are surprisingly peaceful.

Dining & Amenities

While there isn’t a full-service restaurant on-site, the breakfast setup is thoughtfully arranged and features quality local ingredients — proper Italian coffee, fresh pastries from nearby bakeries, and seasonal fruit that actually tastes like something. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood and will point you toward hidden gems for dinner. They’ve also got this nice little lounge area where you can decompress with a drink after a day of museum-hopping, which honestly becomes more valuable than you’d expect when your feet are screaming from all that marble floor walking.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.2 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s that rare combination of location, comfort, and personal service that’s hard to find in Florence. Couples particularly seem to appreciate the intimate scale and romantic neighborhood setting, and I get it. There’s something about being able to stroll to dinner through these historic streets, then come back to a space that feels like your own little Florentine hideaway. The staff treats you like a welcomed houseguest rather than just another check-in, and in a city that can sometimes feel overwhelming with its tourist crowds, that personal touch makes all the difference.

the decor and the location were superb, as was the staff , which was present only 8am-8 pm each day. the "kitchen' was inadequate to do anything frankly (needs a microwave, for travellers!), and they didn't offer breakfast....nor was there any nearby cafe to grab an "Italian breakfast", or even a cappuccino. I found the price very high for what was offered, but still enjoyed my stay.
