Fabroniana Apartments
Pistoia, ItalyFirst Impressions
Walking up Via Pietro Bozzi to find Fabroniana Apartments, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect — the street is quiet, residential, and feels refreshingly removed from tourist chaos. The building itself has that understated Italian charm you find in Pistoia, where everything feels authentic rather than polished for visitors. You know what struck me immediately? The neighborhood has this lived-in quality that makes you feel like you’re staying where locals actually want to be, not in some sanitized hotel district.
Location & Neighborhood
Pistoia is one of those Tuscan gems that somehow stays under the radar, and Fabroniana Apartments sits right in the sweet spot of the historic center. I mean, you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Piazza del Duomo — I timed it at about four minutes at a leisurely pace. The Via Pietro Bozzi location puts you close enough to everything that matters (the cathedral, those incredible medieval towers, the morning market) but far enough from the main tourist flow that evenings feel peaceful. Couples seem to really get this balance — there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of an already intimate city.
The Apartment Experience
These aren’t hotel rooms, they’re actual apartments, which changes everything about how you experience Pistoia. Having a proper kitchen means you can grab fresh ingredients from the local market and actually cook — or at least make decent coffee in the morning without hunting for an open café. The spaces feel genuinely Italian rather than trying to recreate some generic idea of Italy. Each apartment has its own character (the layouts vary quite a bit), but they all share this sense of being real homes rather than temporary accommodations.
What Makes It Special
The 9.6 rating honestly makes sense once you spend time here. It’s not about fancy amenities or concierge services — it’s about having a base that lets you live in Pistoia rather than just visit it. The apartments give you space to spread out, plan your days over morning coffee, and return somewhere that feels like yours. I found myself looking forward to coming back each evening, which doesn’t always happen in traditional hotels. The management clearly understands that sometimes the best hospitality is simply providing a great space and then getting out of your way.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something about staying at Fabroniana Apartments that makes Pistoia feel accessible in a way it might not from a standard hotel. You’re not a tourist passing through — you’re temporarily living in this beautiful, often-overlooked Tuscan city. The location means you can explore the historic center on foot, duck into local restaurants without planning, and discover those little details that make Pistoia special. For couples especially, having your own apartment creates this sense of shared discovery that’s hard to replicate in a hotel room. It’s the kind of place that makes you start planning your return visit before you’ve even left.

What could be improved: Nothing
Thank you!
What could be improved: Everything was perfect!
What could be improved: Nothing much
What could be improved: We left the flat on Saturday and we were not aware, that there is a market in the town, actually in the street of the flat, so we could'nt get to the flat by car to put the packages in.
What could be improved: The elevator in the building was defect. Apartment is on the first floor, so expect to be able to take some stairs. Would not recommend it to people that have issues walking stairs (elderly people). However, this was not a problem for us, the staircase is actually very wide and charming, part of the nice atmosphere of the historic building. Would recommend to check with the owner if the elevator is functioning again, if this is important for you.
