When I mentioned wanting to hit some of the smaller antique shops (Arezzo’s monthly antique fair is legendary, but the real finds are in the everyday places), the guy at the front desk didn’t just hand me a generic map. He actually walked me through which streets to try on which days, warned me about the one dealer who’s notorious for overcharging tourists, and even called ahead to make sure this tiny ceramics shop would be open. That’s the kind of local knowledge you just can’t fake. The whole experience felt effortless in a way that probably takes serious work behind the scenes – parking was handled without me even asking, check-in took about three minutes, and they somehow anticipated that I’d want extra towels before I realized I needed them. It’s definitely pricier than the standard business hotels closer to the train station, but you’re paying for something completely different here.
