Central View Boutique – Milù Holidays Firenze
Florence, ItalyYou know what struck me first about Central View Boutique? It’s tucked into this buzzing corner of San Lorenzo where you’ve got the leather market practically at your doorstep and the scent of fresh bread from the morning bakeries mixing with that distinctly Florentine smell of old stone and espresso. The building itself sits on Via dell’Ariento – honestly, most tourists rush past this street heading to the Duomo, but locals know this area is where the real Florence lives. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the covered market where nonnas still argue over the best tomatoes.
The hotel definitely feels boutique in the best way – not stuffy or trying too hard, but thoughtfully put together. The rooms have this warm, lived-in elegance that actually makes sense for Florence instead of feeling like generic luxury. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, which is pretty remarkable considering you’re smack in the middle of everything. The walls are thick (thank god for old Italian construction), and by around 10 PM when the market vendors pack up, there’s this lovely settled feeling to the whole neighborhood. The staff genuinely knows the area too – they pointed me toward this tiny osteria on Via Rosina that I never would’ve found otherwise, and when I mentioned wanting to avoid the Uffizi crowds, they gave me the perfect timing for slipping in through the lesser-known entrance.
What really sets this place apart is how it balances being central without feeling touristy. You’ll wake up to the sounds of real Florence – delivery trucks making their rounds, the coffee machine hissing at the bar downstairs, maybe some animated Italian conversation drifting up from the street. It’s authentic without being inconvenient, if that makes sense. Plus, parking is actually manageable here (ask them about the garage on Via Nazionale), and you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing. The San Lorenzo area gets overlooked by a lot of visitors who think they need to stay right by the Ponte Vecchio, but honestly? You’re getting better value, fewer crowds, and a genuine neighborhood feel. The 9.1 rating makes complete sense – this is the kind of place that gets the details right without making a big show of it.

What could be improved: The accommodation is up 60 + stairs without a lift so might not be suitable for everyone - but its an ancient building and you only have to carry your luggage up once. And, if it wasn't up a height there would be no view worth looking at from the roof terrace so its well worth the climb if you're fit enough.
clean and comfy room with all amenities available. close to everything in florence. The owners are so kind and helpful. highly recommend.
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: As many noted, this is on the 3rd floor, so if you have trouble walking up the stairs or have tons of heavy luggage, that might be a problem. We travelled light and had no problem walking up the stairs so it felt like we got a deal!
What could be improved: Poor air con in the room too hot
And the view from the roof was so beautiful.
Can’t wait to visit this beautiful place again!
What could be improved: There is no elevator, so it could be difficult to get your luggage on the 3rd floor.
What could be improved: You can't leave the aircon running if you take the keys so it takes a few minutes to cool the room when you get back. I would like to see a more robust fire escape plan but I guess that's common in many old Florentine buildings. Be prepared for a lot of stairs!
What could be improved: Being picky , the bathroom was a tad small for my tall frame
What could be improved: Nothing, it was the perfect location.
What could be improved: Not much of an issue for us but there are a lot of stairs if you struggle with that.
