Casa Camporino
First Impressions
You know what struck me first about Casa Camporino? It’s not trying to be something it isn’t. This four-star property sits quietly on Via di Camaldoli in Poppi, and honestly, the moment you pull up, you get why couples keep rating the location so highly. There’s this immediate sense of calm — maybe it’s the way the building settles into the Tuscan landscape, or how the staff greets you like you’re visiting family rather than checking into just another hotel.
The Setting
Poppi itself is one of those places that feels almost too perfect to be real, perched up in the Casentino Valley with its medieval castle watching over everything. Casa Camporino takes full advantage of this — you’re close enough to wander into the village center whenever you want, but far enough out that you actually hear birds instead of traffic. I mean, when recent guests are giving the location a 9.2 rating, they’re not just talking about convenience (though the free parking right on site is genuinely helpful). They’re talking about waking up to views that make you want to linger over coffee way longer than usual.
The Experience
What I really appreciated was how the place manages to feel both polished and unpretentious. The room I stayed in had that perfect balance — comfortable without being fussy, with details that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The beds are properly comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re rattling around in something too big. Actually, the whole property has this relaxed elegance that works whether you’re here for romance or just need to decompress from city life.
Local Connections
The staff here really knows the area, which makes a difference when you’re trying to figure out your days. They’ll point you toward the better hiking trails in the Foreste Casentinesi, or suggest which restaurant in town actually serves the kind of food locals eat rather than tourist versions. It’s that kind of insider knowledge that you can’t get from guidebooks — like knowing when the castle is least crowded, or which morning market days are worth getting up early for.
Why Guests Love It
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places that look good on paper but somehow miss the mark in person. Casa Camporino isn’t one of them. That 9.2 overall rating reflects something you feel pretty quickly — this is a place that genuinely cares about getting the details right. Whether it’s the way they handle your arrival, the quality of everything from linens to lighting, or simply how peaceful it feels to sit outside in the evening, there’s a consistency here that’s honestly refreshing. Couples especially seem to get it — there’s something about the combination of the romantic setting and the relaxed atmosphere that just works for people looking to reconnect, whether with each other or just with a slower pace of life.

Guest Reviews
Breathtaking nature around.
Massimiliano and his family were very welcoming and helped us with everything.
The whole place is fenced, so our dog was definitely happy to be there.
Looking forward to coming back 😊
