Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Cappuccina Country Resort? The silence. I mean, you’re only about 15 minutes from San Gimignano’s medieval towers, but driving up that winding road to Località Cappuccina feels like you’re entering a completely different world. The resort sits on this gorgeous hillside surrounded by olive groves and vineyards – honestly, it’s the kind of Tuscan countryside view that makes you understand why people fall in love with this region. The buildings have that authentic farmhouse feel without being overly rustic, if that makes sense. They’ve clearly put thought into maintaining the original character while making everything actually comfortable for modern travelers.
The staff here really gets it – they’re not just going through the motions like at some chain hotels. When I checked in, the woman at reception actually drew me a little map showing the best walking path to reach the historic center of San Gimignano, plus she marked where to park (trust me, parking in San Gimignano itself is a nightmare, especially during summer). The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, though I’d recommend requesting one facing the valley rather than the access road – the sunrise views are absolutely worth it. The pool area is probably the resort’s crown jewel. It’s positioned perfectly to catch the afternoon sun, and there’s something magical about swimming while looking out over those rolling Tuscan hills dotted with cypress trees.
What I really appreciated was how they’ve struck this balance between being a proper retreat and still keeping you connected to the area’s incredible food and wine culture. The restaurant serves solid regional dishes – their ribollita is particularly good, and they source ingredients from local farms. The wine list focuses on Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti Classico from nearby estates, which honestly beats the generic international selections you get at most resort hotels. During harvest season (late September, early October), you can actually hear the tractors working the vineyards in the early morning – it’s oddly soothing rather than disruptive. The only minor downside is that you’ll definitely want a car to fully explore the area, but that’s pretty much true for any countryside accommodation in Tuscany. With an 8.3 rating, Cappuccina delivers exactly what you’d hope for from a 4-star Tuscan escape – authentic surroundings, genuine hospitality, and that perfect blend of relaxation and cultural immersion that makes you want to extend your stay by at least another few days.

Location, surrounding nature and the service. Welcoming was quite warm and kind. The room is clean and large. The bed sheets are quality (cotton with satin). The pillows are quite comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. It would be the only place that we eat croissants with pistachio, very delicious like baklava.

Superb location! I would come back to this resort if I ever visit Tuscany again, just for the location. The hotel is nice, the surroundings are amazing and San Gimignano is just a few km away. Other places were also super easy to reach.
Nice breakfast 🙂Charanjiv from India (7/10)

Location close to San Gimignano was very good. Since we were using own car, parking was spacious and available without extra costs. We stayed in the Junior Suite that was renovated, it was clean and overall OK. The choice on breakfasts daily was identical but still quite wide range for Italian standards. We were looking to use restaurant in the evening more often but their offer was not of our expectations. Hotel team was overall smily and helpful.
