Borgo20 Firenze
First Impressions
Walking up to Borgo20 Firenze on a narrow cobblestone street, you immediately know you’ve found something special. This four-star boutique property sits right in the San Lorenzo district β honestly, you can’t get more central than this in Florence. The building itself has that understated Florentine elegance that doesn’t scream “tourist hotel,” which I actually appreciate. It feels more like you’re staying at a sophisticated friend’s place who happens to have impeccable taste.
The Heart of Renaissance Florence
Here’s what’s incredible about the location β you’re literally steps from the Duomo, but tucked away on Borgo San Lorenzo where you get a real feel for daily Florentine life. I mean, couples rate this spot 9.9 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. You can walk to the Uffizi in about eight minutes, grab morning coffee at local bars that actually serve residents (not just tourists), and the Central Market is right around the corner. The San Lorenzo area has this perfect mix of authentic neighborhood vibes and Renaissance grandeur that’s honestly hard to find elsewhere in the city center.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed β clean lines, warm colors, and those little touches that show someone actually cares about guest comfort. But you know what really stood out? The bed was phenomenal. I’m usually a light sleeper, especially when traveling, but I slept like a baby here. Apparently other guests feel the same way because the property gets consistently high marks for sleep quality. The bathrooms are modern without feeling sterile, and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in, which isn’t always a given in Florence’s historic center.
Neighborhood Discoveries
What I love about staying here is how quickly you slip into a local rhythm. There’s this fantastic little restaurant just two doors down that serves the kind of ribollita that makes you understand why Tuscans are so proud of their cuisine. The morning passeggiata (that’s the Italian evening stroll, but honestly it happens all day here) flows right past your doorstep. You’re also perfectly positioned to explore both the touristy highlights and the quieter streets where real Florentines shop for groceries and meet friends for aperitivo.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.2 rating really tells the story here β this place consistently delivers on what matters most to travelers. The location is unbeatable without being chaotic, the comfort level exceeds expectations for a historic city center property, and the staff genuinely seems to care about your experience. I think what sets Borgo20 apart is that balance between accessibility and authenticity. You’re not sacrificing the real Florence experience for convenience, or vice versa. It’s that sweet spot where you can easily hit the major sights but also discover the Florence that locals actually live in β and sleep incredibly well while doing both.

Clean, convenient and great facilities.
Location was fab, near all the local attractions.
Mercato definitely worth a visit for food and drink!
I expected it to be noisy as had read the reviews, but wasnβt as bad as I expected. More the noise of the rubbish collectors than anything else.
Would recommend this for a stay in Florence.
