First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Borgo Giusto Tuscany, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this four-star property tucked away in the hills near Diecimo. The approach winds through typical Tuscan countryside — you know, those rolling hills dotted with olive groves that look almost too perfect to be real. What struck me immediately was how quiet everything felt, like the world just sort of slowed down the moment I arrived. The building itself has that authentic Italian farmhouse charm without feeling overly polished or touristy.

Location & Setting

I mean, couples clearly get what this place is about — they’ve rated the location 8.6, and I can see why. You’re about 20 minutes from Lucca, which gives you easy access to one of Tuscany’s most beautiful walled cities, but you’re far enough out to feel like you’ve escaped the crowds. The parking situation is actually refreshing — free private spots right on site, which honestly saves you a headache if you’re driving around this region. From the property, you can see the Apuan Alps in the distance, and there’s something really peaceful about watching the light change on those peaks throughout the day.

The Room Experience

My room had that perfect balance of rustic Tuscan character and modern comfort that’s surprisingly hard to find. The stone walls and wooden beams felt authentic — not like someone just slapped on a “Tuscan theme” — but everything worked properly, from the air conditioning to the Wi-Fi. The bathroom was spacious enough, and I appreciated the little touches like locally-made toiletries. What I really loved was the view from my window; you wake up looking out over vineyards and olive groves, which never gets old, even after several days.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast setup here is actually quite thoughtful — they do a continental buffet that covers all the basics, but they’ve also got gluten-free options clearly marked, which I noticed several guests really appreciated. The local honey and fresh pastries were standouts, and the coffee was proper Italian strong. They serve everything in a bright dining area that opens onto a terrace, so you can eat outside when the weather’s nice. I found myself lingering over breakfast longer than usual, partly because the setting was so relaxed and partly because there’s no rush to get anywhere when you’re surrounded by this kind of scenery.

Why Guests Love It

What really works about Borgo Giusto Tuscany is that it delivers on the Tuscan countryside experience without the pretense you sometimes find at more expensive places. The recent guest rating of 8.5 for location makes perfect sense — you’re genuinely in the heart of beautiful countryside, but you’re not stranded. The staff seems to understand that people come here to unwind, so there’s no pressure to participate in activities or follow a schedule. It’s the kind of place where you can spend a morning just sitting on the terrace with a book, then drive to explore medieval hill towns in the afternoon, knowing you’ll come back to somewhere that feels peaceful rather than chaotic.

Stunning views from the mountain where the property is located. Huge pool. Property is beautifully renovated keeping the style of the 1600s which is when it was constructed to serve as a village. As such the property is big, you can walk around and enjoy the details. Nice hiking trails around. Good restaurant with dinner and breakfast. Super helpful staff! The views and the beautiful old style buildings surrounded by nature really made it feel like the Tuscan paradise.
