B&B Di Camilla
Pisa, ItalyYou know what struck me first about B&B Di Camilla? The location is honestly perfect – and I mean that in the most practical way possible. Via San Francesco is this quiet residential street that feels authentically Pisan, not touristy at all, but you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the Leaning Tower. I actually timed it because I’m obsessive like that.
Camilla herself runs the place, and she’s one of those hosts who just gets it. The building is this beautifully restored 19th-century townhouse with original terracotta floors that make the most satisfying sound when you walk across them in the morning. The rooms are spacious – way more than you’d expect for a B&B – with these gorgeous high ceilings and windows that actually open properly (you’d be surprised how rare that is in Italy). Mine overlooked a little courtyard garden where Camilla grows herbs for breakfast, which sounds cheesy but honestly smells incredible when you wake up.
The breakfast situation is where this place really shines. Forget the sad continental spread most places give you – Camilla makes everything from scratch. Fresh pastries, local honey, proper espresso that she’ll teach you to make if you ask nicely. She sources everything locally, so you’re getting real Tuscan flavors, not tourist food. The dining room has this long wooden table where everyone sits together, and I ended up having the best conversations with other travelers. There’s something about sharing actual good food that just breaks down barriers.
Practically speaking, the area is super quiet at night – I’m a light sleeper and never had issues – but it comes alive during the day with locals going about their business. There’s a fantastic little alimentari right around the corner on Via Carducci where you can grab supplies, and the 4 bus line is two blocks away if you want to explore beyond the historic center. Parking can be tricky (it’s Italy, after all), but Camilla knows all the spots and will actually walk you there if needed.
The only minor thing – and this is really nitpicking – is that the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, but honestly, you’re in Pisa. Go explore instead of scrolling Instagram. The whole experience feels like staying with a knowledgeable friend who happens to have impeccable taste in design and knows where to get the best coffee beans in town. With a 9.5 rating, I get why people keep coming back – it’s that rare combination of genuine warmth and attention to detail that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Loved the outside area where we had breakfast and also the owners were very nice and warming.
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: nothing
What could be improved: It was a little hard to identify the correct door to the B and B at first as there is no signage. But also this is probably because of our awareness.
What could be improved: Nothing, it was perfect.
The room itself was clean and comfortable and I had a very pleasant nights rest.
Location wise it couldn’t be better, tucked away and a matter of minutes walk from all of the main attractions of the area and with lots of cafes and restaurants a minutes walk away it’s ideal.
The owners were lovely and very accommodating, I couldn’t recommend this little gem of a place enough!
What could be improved: Nothing to dislike
What could be improved: no lift and with a baby it was a little bit of a juggle
