First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Agriturismo Tenuta Adamo, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect — the name suggests a working farm, but this four-star property feels more like a refined countryside retreat. The drive along Via per Camaiore takes you through rolling Tuscan hills dotted with olive groves, and suddenly there it is, this beautifully restored farmhouse that manages to feel both rustic and polished. You know what struck me immediately? The free parking right on site — which might sound trivial until you’ve spent twenty minutes circling narrow streets in Lucca looking for a spot.

The Setting

The location is actually brilliant if you want to experience authentic Tuscany without being stuck in the middle of nowhere. You’re about a fifteen-minute drive from Lucca’s historic center, which means you can easily pop into town for dinner or sightseeing, then retreat to this peaceful bubble surrounded by vineyards and farmland. I mean, the couples who stay here clearly get it — they’ve rated the location 8.8 out of 10, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about waking up to views of the countryside, then spending your evening wandering Lucca’s medieval walls.

The Room Experience

My room had this perfect blend of traditional Tuscan elements — think exposed wooden beams and terracotta floors — with modern comforts that actually work. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not always a given in converted farmhouses), and the bathrooms have been thoughtfully updated without losing that authentic feel. What I appreciated most was the attention to detail — fresh flowers, locally-made soaps, and windows that frame the landscape like living paintings. The Wi-Fi works well too, which matters if you’re trying to share those Instagram-worthy sunset shots.

Dining and Atmosphere

The on-site restaurant focuses on farm-to-table cuisine using ingredients grown right on the property, and honestly, it’s some of the best food I had during my entire stay in Tuscany. They serve traditional dishes with a modern twist — the kind of cooking that feels both familiar and surprising. Breakfast happens on a terrace overlooking the vineyards, and if you time it right, you’ll catch the morning mist rolling across the hills. The staff here actually knows the area well and can point you toward hidden gems that most tourists never discover.

Why Guests Love It

What sets Tenuta Adamo apart is how it strikes this perfect balance between accessibility and authenticity. You’re not roughing it in some basic farmhouse, but you’re also not stuck in a generic hotel that could be anywhere. The 8.4 rating reflects what I experienced — solid service, beautiful surroundings, and that sense of being somewhere special without the pretension. It’s the kind of place where you can spend a lazy afternoon by the pool reading a book, then drive into Lucca for aperitivo, and both experiences feel equally right. Plus, having your own car parked safely on the property gives you the freedom to explore the region at your own pace.

We were a group of 6 adults and had a great stay. The rooms were large and clean.
The view was amazing. In the heart of the hills of Tuscany and close to the beautiful city of Lucca. Everything was good.
We found a complimentary bottle of wine produced by the winery itself and it tasted delicious.

Antonio really works hard to make this place even better then it already is. The beautiful surroundings of the vineyard, the great swimmingpool with enough space to be in the sun or the shade, the airco that works very good and is very silent. We stayed for a week, very nice that there is a washingmachine and also the kitchen in well equiped. If something broke, Antonio made sure to fix it fast. We can really recommend this place. Also, if you stay in the appartment, be sure to participate the winetasting, great wines and after that you can just roll down the hill 😄

We met a very friendly and attentive landlord. Easy to contact that was necessary because we needed some explanation how to use the various equipment. The appartment is spacious (for three people) and pleasant at a beautiful surrounding. Also a very good swimming pool . We wanted to stay longer but unfortunately it was already booked.

Nice place surrounded by grapes plantation. Apartment with fully equipped kitchen and stylish furniture. Looks even better than on pictures. One bedroom with bathroom and second bathroom for other two bedrooms. Big parking and nice swimming pool. Very friendly and helpful host. I highly recommend taking part in wine tasting in their winery nearby which was a great experience.
