I stayed in one of the upstairs rooms and could hear the countryside waking up in the morning – roosters, sure, but also this incredible quiet that you just can’t find in the cities. The WiFi works fine if you need it, though honestly, you might find yourself caring less about checking emails when you’re sitting on their terrace with a glass of their own wine watching the sun set over those endless rolling hills.

The food situation is where this place really shines, and I mean that in the most authentic way possible. They serve dinner a few nights a week using stuff grown right there on the property – tomatoes that actually taste like tomatoes, olive oil so fresh it’s almost spicy, that kind of thing. It’s not fancy plated restaurant food, it’s just… real. Good. The kind of meal that makes you understand why people get so obsessed with Italian food culture. Breakfast happens on the terrace when weather permits, and there’s nothing quite like starting your day with fresh pastries and coffee while looking out over vineyards that stretch to the horizon. The whole area is perfect for day trips too – you’re close enough to Siena for a morning visit, but Montepulciano and Pienza are actually easier drives and way less crowded. Pro tip: ask them about the local thermal springs. They’re not in any guidebooks, but they’re absolutely worth the detour.
