Agriturismo Le Gallozzole
Monteriggioni, ItalyYou know how sometimes you stumble across a place that’s exactly what you didn’t know you were looking for? That’s Agriturismo Le Gallozzole for you. I’ll be honest – when I first turned down Strada Dei Selvolini, I thought my GPS had lost its mind. This narrow country road winds through proper Tuscan countryside, the kind where you’re genuinely wondering if you’ve made a wrong turn somewhere. But then you see the sign, and suddenly you’re pulling into what feels like someone’s beautifully maintained family estate (which, let’s face it, it probably was at some point).
The thing about this place is that it actually feels like an agriturismo should – not some fancy resort masquerading as a farm stay. There are olive groves right outside your window, and I mean right outside. You can hear the leaves rustling at night, which is honestly more relaxing than any white noise machine. The buildings have that weathered stone look that you can’t fake, and the whole property sits on this gentle hillside where you can see Monteriggioni’s famous towers in the distance. Speaking of which – and this is something I didn’t realize until I was there – you’re basically a ten-minute walk from one of the most perfectly preserved medieval towns in Italy. Not a ten-minute drive, a walk. Through actual vineyards and olive groves. It’s almost ridiculous how picturesque it is.
What really got me was the attention to detail that doesn’t feel calculated. The rooms are spacious in that old Italian way – high ceilings, thick walls that keep everything cool even in summer, and windows that actually open wide (thank god, because there’s nothing worse than being trapped behind sealed glass when the evening air smells like jasmine and herbs). The bathrooms are modern without being sterile, and honestly, the shower pressure was better than my apartment back home. Parking is easy – just pull up to your building, no complicated valet situation or hunting for spots. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too; none of that hovering-over-you-while-you-fill-out-forms nonsense.
I stayed there in late September, which turned out to be perfect timing. The summer crowds had thinned out, but it was still warm enough to sit outside with a glass of wine in the evening. And speaking of wine – they produce their own, which ranges from quite decent to genuinely impressive. The breakfast spread includes local cheeses and cured meats that taste like they came from farms you could probably walk to. There’s a pool area that’s lovely without being flashy, surrounded by lavender that smells incredible in the morning sun. The whole place has this lived-in authenticity that makes you feel like you’re staying with well-traveled friends rather than checking into a hotel. At a 9.5 rating, it’s clearly not just me who thinks they’ve got something special going on here.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: Towels. Were issued 1 set per person and no exchange. Did have a washer and dryer on site, but it was rather slow. Not a big issue, just something to note when staying multi days.
What could be improved: N/A
What could be improved: As others have said, the equipment in the house is on the low side. They do warn you about that in advance, and they even provide an advised shopping list, but the place is a bit far from supermarkets, especially if you arrive on Sunday evening.
What could be improved: Nothing major. Lightning inside the rooms could be brighter.
Our accommodation was house no.12, perfectly comfortable and clean!
What could be improved: It's hard to find any fault..
Met our expectations fully. Can recommend.
What could be improved: Nothing at all
