3 Gigli Florence
Florence, ItalyYou know what? I’ve walked past 3 Gigli Florence probably fifty times before I actually stayed there, and honestly, I was kicking myself for waiting so long. It sits right on this little square – Piazza del Tiratoio – that most tourists completely miss because they’re bee-lining from the Ponte Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti. But that’s exactly what makes this place special. You’re in San Frediano, which is where actual Florentines hang out, not just where they work.
The hotel itself feels like someone’s incredibly stylish Florentine aunt decided to open her doors to guests. I mean, it’s got that 4-star polish – the kind where your towels are actually fluffy and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes – but without any of that sterile chain hotel vibe. The rooms have these gorgeous original details (we’re talking frescoed ceilings in some) mixed with modern stuff that actually works. My shower had proper water pressure, which… well, if you’ve stayed in historic Italian hotels before, you know that’s not always a given. The whole place smells faintly of leather and good coffee, probably drifting up from the lobby where they serve this ridiculously strong espresso that’ll wake you up faster than any alarm clock.
What really won me over was the location – and I don’t mean that in some generic “convenient location” way. I mean you can walk to the Oltrarno workshops where they’re still doing traditional bookbinding and goldsmithing (try explaining that to friends back home), grab aperitivo at Il Santino which is literally around the corner, and then stumble back without dealing with the crowds that clog up the main tourist drags. The morning light hits the piazza just right around 8 AM, and you’ll probably find yourself lingering over breakfast longer than planned just watching the neighborhood wake up. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise – it’s Florence, not a monastery – but it’s the good kind of noise. Kids playing, neighbors chatting, the occasional Vespa. Actually adds to the whole experience if you ask me. The staff seems to get that they’re not just running a hotel, they’re sharing their neighborhood, and they’ll point you toward the family-run trattoria two blocks down instead of the tourist trap everyone else recommends. With that 8.9 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and after spending three nights there, I can tell you it’s earned.

Guest Reviews
Muy atento el personal desde el momento de la contratación.
What could be improved: No utilizamos mucho la cocina, pero le falta algún utensilio de cocina, sartenes por ejemplo.
What could be improved: 洗手间需要挂钩
What could be improved: Odd smell in the kitchenette that stayed over the four days. On the last day, the front door code wasn't working but we had keys so it was a non-issue! Aside from that, everything good! Thank you
What could be improved: 位置在二樓,上落三十級。椅子只有兩張,
What could be improved: Unfortunately 3 Gigli did not leave a great impression. When we got to the apartment there was a strange smell and the staff tried to treat it but the smell remained. Everything else was similar. There was a washing machine but not clothe lines or detergent. There was a coffee machine but no capsules. These small things added up to not make a great experience.
What could be improved: Could have done with washing up liquid
It was absolutely perfect!
