Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Villa Sant’Andrea? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet stretch of Strada Grossetana, which honestly sounds way more intimidating than it is – you’re maybe a 10-minute drive from Siena’s historic center, but it feels like you’ve escaped to the countryside. The moment I pulled up, I got why this place has that 8.7 rating.
The villa itself has this effortless Tuscan charm that doesn’t feel forced or touristy. I mean, you can tell it’s a proper 4-star place, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about it. The staff actually remembers your name after day one (rare these days), and they’ll give you real recommendations – not just the obvious tourist spots everyone hits. They pointed me toward this little enoteca in Siena that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms are spacious in that solid European way, with those thick walls that keep everything blissfully quiet at night. I slept better there than I had in weeks, which is saying something because I’m usually a light sleeper in hotels.
What really sets this place apart though is how it strikes that perfect balance between being close enough to Siena for easy day trips but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the crowds and chaos. You can walk to a few local spots for dinner – there’s this family-run trattoria maybe 15 minutes on foot that serves the kind of ribollita that’ll ruin you for every other version. The hotel’s breakfast is honestly solid too, proper Italian spread with local pastries and coffee that doesn’t taste like hotel coffee, if you know what I mean. Parking was never an issue (huge plus if you’re doing the Tuscan road trip thing), and the whole property has these lovely gardens where you can actually sit and read without feeling like you’re on display. I ended up spending more time there than I expected, just soaking up that particular late afternoon light that Tuscany does so well. It’s the kind of place where you’d bring your parents or use as a base for exploring the region – comfortable, reliable, but with enough character that it feels like a discovery rather than just another hotel stop.

Absolutely amazing experience in this 19th century villa – Ramšak from Slovenia – 7 July 2025 (10/10)
It is a lovely villa, very close to Siena. When you walk in, it feels like you walked into the early 19th century. They have very strict rules for renovation, so you have to have that in mind, because it is not modern, but it gives you an amazing experience. Room was spacious and it had an AC. You have a private bathroom. It is clean. The breakfast was great, home made cakes, you have savory and sweet options. The hosts were absolutely lovely, they told us about the villa and showed us the painting. We really loved the experience.
A nice room in a fine old villa, this is a great way to visit Siena in style. – Ganfo from United States – 11 June 2025 (9/10)
We had an excellent stay at this beautiful property near Siena. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, the breakfast was great, and the hostess was quite helpful and obliging. Reserved parking was by the front door, Though the road in front can be busy, we found our room to be quiet. Access was smooth once we figured out that the property entrance is literally at one of the points of a three-way intersection. A new guest could drive by the nice estate home behind an open gate without realizing it's his destination, but upon returning, if he's cautious and alert, it's easy to enter. We very much enjoyed exploring Siena on foot and also driving through Crete Senesi (a scenic area resembling the Val d' Orcia) on a rainy day.
What could be improved: No complaints. A lovely place.Superb – Iwashere85 from Guatemala – 15 May 2025 (9/10)
Beautiful old house converted to a Bed and Breakfast. Located outside of Siena, the location was perfect for visiting that area. Very quiet, very clean, delicious breakfast and excellent hosts.

I loved the historical features of this old hunting lodge. It had the modern necessities but they've maintained the original features.
