You know what caught me off guard about Villa S.Andrea? The fact that it’s tucked away on Via Di Fabbrica – which honestly sounds like it should be some industrial street, but it’s actually this quiet road that winds through the heart of San Casciano’s wine country. I mean, you’re literally surrounded by vineyards, and the morning view from most rooms is just rolling Tuscan hills dotted with cypress trees. It’s the kind of place where you wake up and think “oh right, I’m actually in Italy.”

The property itself feels more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s villa than a traditional hotel – there’s this relaxed elegance that doesn’t try too hard. The rooms are spacious (a pleasant surprise after some of the shoebox accommodations I’ve encountered in Italian towns), and they’ve managed to blend modern amenities with that classic Tuscan aesthetic without going overboard on the rustic thing. The WiFi actually works well, which… let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in these more rural spots. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details – decent water pressure in the showers, blackout curtains that actually block light, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a tractor starting up.

San Casciano itself is perfectly positioned if you want to explore Chianti without dealing with the tourist crowds of Greve or Castellina. You can walk to the town center in about ten minutes, and there’s this little enoteca on Via Machiavelli where the owner will let you taste wines from producers you’ve never heard of but probably should have. The hotel staff – and I mean this genuinely – seem to know everyone in town, so they’re great for recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. Parking is included, which is clutch because navigating these narrow streets without a guaranteed spot would be stressful. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re planning to stay during harvest season (late September, early October), book way ahead because the whole area gets busy with wine tourists, and places like this fill up fast. But honestly, with a 9.3 rating, I’m guessing most people have already figured out that Villa S.Andrea is something special – it’s just got that perfect balance of being refined enough for a romantic getaway but comfortable enough that you don’t feel like you have to be “on” all the time.

Chianti country Villa Located in the heart of Chianti country. It’s a nicely appointed villa.
We only stayed one night so admittedly, we didn’t give it much of a try.

What could be improved: We skipped breakfast, which was a good thing because it was overloaded with families with very loud children. Our room really didn’t have any views as it was a top floor with very small windows. Pool was the distance from the room, which was a bummer. Parking and luggage drop off/pick up was a bit difficult as the front entrance is very busy at check-in and check out.

Superb The location - Podere Perdicato - is secluded but has all the comfort: large rooms, good bathroom, well equipped kitchen, TV, terrace, coffee machine, microwave, induction stove, water boiler. Option to wash your clothes and even iron them. The pool area is very nice, equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, bonus barbecue area. It is very quiet, serene, in the middle of the olive trees.

What could be improved: Nothing to mention as a minus. Only advice, valid maybe for a lot of Tuscan villas, is that it is atop of a hill... so better to have a bit more powerful car, even though we could go up with our rented Panda also :)

Exceptional Beautiful view of Tuscany from your room. They make their own wine & olive oil and offer a tasting experience which was great too. Staff very helpful and made sure we had a great stay. Comfortable rooms, good breakfast, peaceful and calm.

Fabulous setting, views and ambience. Definitely will return. Exceptional setting and well maintained property.
Well positioned with access to neighbouring villages and cities.

What could be improved: We were there for 3 nights. No cleaning staff entered the property until we left.

Strongly recommend Strongly recommend. The views, the vineyard, the lake (just take a bike across the hills, up and down for a joyful ride), the wine tour was an amazing experience, the breakfast is amazing and the espresso and cappuccino are the best I had this stay in Italy, the restaurant open for lunch and dinner had great food and wine.

Most importantly, the people managing the estate are so welcoming and make you feel very relaxed by supporting any desire or need. Hospitality at peek level.

I will definitely come back for more relaxing days, more over in the summer, when the pools will also be warm enough for a swim.

What could be improved: everything was amazing.

Our stay at Villa Andrea was really nice. It’s a small intimate property with less facilities but in terms of the locati Loved the location, the restaurant (great food!) and the views!

What could be improved: The spa wasn’t operational due to an electricity issue which is not the properties fault really..
