You know what caught me off guard about Villa Franco? I was expecting another cookie-cutter hotel when I pulled up to Via Dori 16, but this place actually has character. It’s tucked away in Orentano – which, honestly, most people haven’t heard of unless they’re from around Castelfranco di Sotto – but that’s exactly what makes it special. The building itself has this warm, villa-like charm that makes you feel like you’re staying at a well-traveled friend’s place rather than just another hotel room.

The staff here actually knows the area, which is rarer than you’d think. When I mentioned wanting to explore beyond the typical tourist spots, they didn’t just hand me a generic brochure. Instead, they told me about the morning market in Castelfranco (Thursdays, apparently, and worth the short walk) and this little osteria about ten minutes away where locals go for dinner. The 9.3 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be flashy, but everything just works. Check-in was smooth, the room was spotless, and I mean spotless in that way where you can tell someone actually cares about the details. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up checking the time, and the bathroom had proper water pressure, which… well, if you’ve traveled in Italy, you know that’s not always guaranteed.

What really sold me on this place, though, was the location. Orentano sits in this perfect spot where you can actually breathe – no crowds, no tour buses honking outside your window at 7 AM. But you’re not isolated either. Pisa’s about a 40-minute drive when you want to see the leaning tower and deal with tourists, and Florence is doable for a day trip if you’re feeling ambitious. The countryside around here is genuinely beautiful, especially in the early morning when the mist hangs over the fields. I found myself taking walks just because the scenery was so different from what I expected. There’s parking right at the hotel (free, which is becoming a luxury these days), and the whole area feels safe enough that I wandered around after dinner without giving it a second thought. Villa Franco isn’t the kind of place you’d book for a wild nightlife scene, but if you want to experience a slice of authentic Italian life without the chaos of major tourist destinations, this is exactly what you’re looking for.

  Villa is super big and can easily accommodate a group of people: you can park your cars inside the gated territory, rooms are huge and the outside area is nice for chilling. Thanks to the host which was super helpful with all our requests.
  
  What could be improved: No dishwasher, which is inconvenient for the amount of people which could stay there. And there was not enough fumigators against mosquitos for every room.

  What could be improved: Пътувам често и съм резервирал чрез Booking около 50 места за настаняване и никога не съм писал лош коментар,  защото дори и да е имало някаква нередност винаги сме стигали до консенсус с домакините. Но за Villa Franco просто не мога да се въздържа,  защото съм ПОТРЕСЕН. Направих резервация за въпросната вила за три нощувки за пет човека и парите ми бяха удържани. Избрах Villa Franco,  защото в обявата е посочено,  че Villa Franco ИМА ЧАСТЕН БАСЕЙН (качил съм снимки). Половин час след резервацията получих обаждане по телефона от домакина, който ми съобщи,  че басейнът не е наличен,  говорейки ми с тон сякаш аз съм виновен за това. По арогантен домакин не съм срещал досега. И това не е всичко!
        В деня на настаняването получавам съобщение от домакина,  че можем да се настаним чак след 20:00 часа,  а като време за настаняване е посочено от 14:00 до 20:00 часа. Дори не се извини за това,  че ни развали почивката.
      Споменах ли,  че по арогантен и нагъл човек просто не съм срещал.
      ЦЯЛАТА ВИЛА Е СЪС СКРИТИ КАМЕРИ!!!
