Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of Florence hotels, and Stone Walls Deluxe honestly surprised me. The name doesn’t do it justice – I mean, sure, there are stone walls (it’s a converted Renaissance building), but this place has way more personality than you’d expect from something called “deluxe.” It’s tucked on via Dell’Oriuolo, which is basically a quiet side street that most tourists walk right past on their way to the Duomo. That’s actually perfect because you’re literally two minutes from all the madness of the cathedral square, but you don’t hear the street performers and tour groups at night.

The rooms have this interesting mix going on – original stone walls and wooden beams, but they’ve updated everything smartly. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in historic Italian hotels), and the bathrooms are modern without feeling sterile. You know what I really appreciated? The windows are properly soundproofed. I stayed there in July when Florence gets absolutely packed, and I could barely hear the street noise. The air conditioning works too, which… well, if you’ve been to Florence in summer, you know why that matters. The staff genuinely seems to care about the place – the woman at reception remembered my name after the first day and had good recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. She pointed me toward this little enoteca on via dei Neri that I never would have found otherwise.

What makes this place special isn’t just the location (though being able to walk to the Uffizi in five minutes is pretty great). It’s the details that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. There’s a proper coffee machine in the lobby that’s available 24/7 – not those capsule things, but actual espresso. The WiFi is strong enough to actually work, even on the upper floors. And honestly, the whole vibe just feels more authentic than those big chain hotels near Santa Maria Novella. You’re staying in a real Florentine building, on a street where locals actually live and work. I watched the guy across the street open his leather workshop every morning – that’s the Florence you came to see, not another generic hotel corridor. The 9-star rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting boutique hotel attention at a price that won’t destroy your travel budget. Just book early if you’re planning to visit during peak season – places like this fill up fast once people discover them.

Unbelievable location right in the heart of everything you could ever want. Beautiful apartment, great soundproofing so that it's quiet when you want it to be. Washer and dryer was very convenient, kitchen is beautiful. One of the best apartments we've ever stayed in. Hosts greeted us, gave us a tour, were available throughout for questions, were just generally amazing and super responsive.

Just a beautiful place in the heart of the city. Location, location, location. Would highly recommend a stay here. For travelers to Florence, though, beware - taxi cabs are difficult to find most of the time, but good exercise I suppose. Literally only a few minutes walk to the Duomo.

The location, the beauty, all of the extra touches that make you feel at home was worth the higher rate. Claudio met us at the apartment and gave us a thorough tour, they even had some food and prosecco for us to get us started. Perfect location

The hosts were amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay in Florence! The accommodation contains endless features and was not only beautifully furnished but well equipped (it has a private terrace and also a steam shower which we all loved!). This was the perfect place to retreat to after a full day exploring the city. We could not recommend this wonderful property any higher! It was amazing from start to finish!
