Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Soggiorno Pezzati? The moment I walked through those doors on Via San Zanobi, it felt like I’d discovered one of those places that somehow balances being properly Florentine without trying too hard. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Duomo – and I’m talking a leisurely stroll, not a power walk – but the street itself has this lovely residential feel that most tourists never experience. The staff actually remembered my name by the second day, which honestly doesn’t happen much in Florence anymore, especially not in the city center.
The rooms have that perfect mix of old-world charm and modern comfort that’s surprisingly hard to find. Mine overlooked a quiet courtyard (thank god, because Via San Zanobi can get a bit lively in the evenings), and the bed was one of those situations where you actually sleep in instead of waking up at dawn from street noise. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious – I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier places where you practically had to step outside to change your mind. What I really appreciated were the little touches that showed someone was thinking: proper reading lights, enough outlets that you don’t have to choose between charging your phone and using the hairdryer, and actual hangers instead of those security ones that never work properly.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Florence rather than just visiting it. San Lorenzo market is literally around the corner – and I mean the real market where locals shop, not just the tourist leather stalls outside. There’s this tiny osteria called Il Gatto e la Volpe about two blocks away that serves the best ribollita I had during my entire stay, and the woman who runs Soggiorno Pezzati was the one who told me about it. That’s the kind of insider knowledge you get when you stay somewhere that’s been family-run for years. The neighborhood comes alive in the evenings when the university students and young professionals who actually live here are heading home, giving you this authentic slice of daily Florentine life that’s pretty magical. Sure, you’ll still encounter tourist groups heading to and from the main sites, but honestly, that’s unavoidable anywhere in central Florence. The difference is that here, you get to retreat to this calm, well-run place where the Wi-Fi actually works and someone’s genuinely happy to help you figure out which bus to take to Fiesole.

Reviews
Great location, easy check in, love the kitchen with the little breakfast option – Andreamers from Netherlands – 7 July 2025 (8/10)
Love the little kitchen area, staff is very friendly!
What could be improved: It is a two flight walk up but this was mentioned when booking so for me it was ok!
I was struggling with the coffee machine, luckily someone was there to help, maybe leave a little instruction with the machine 🙂Mixed bag – Henningsen from United States – 2 July 2025 (7/10)
The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Good air con.
What could be improved: Dicey neighborhood with some construction sites nearby. A little off the beaten path. Cleaning staff took my towels after the first day. On third day, I requested them anyway. Up 50 stairs on long, hot days.Exceptional stay – Billy from United Kingdom – 29 June 2025 (9/10)
Great stay. Very convenient location just a short walk to the main attractions. Comfy bed and had everything we needed. Staff were very kind and helpful with all the check in information
What could be improved: No issuesLittle to be so much more – Lucio from Brazil – 15 May 2025 (9/10)
The harmonious blend of the modern and the old.
Location and comfort
What could be improved: Noisy early in the morning by other guests.
There was no message requesting respect for other guests' rest hours.
As my room was adjacent to the shared kitchen, it's probably where the noise is most noticeable.Exceptional – Leane from Canada – 15 May 2025 (10/10)
Excellent location. Good communication with the hosts.
Exceptional – Laura from Lithuania – 2 May 2025 (10/10)
Cozy, small room. Comfortable bed. No noise from the street. Pleasant, friendly reception. Close to the train station, attractions are easily accessible.
What could be improved: Very small bathroom.Great! – Gillian from Ireland – 1 May 2025 (9/10)
We had a lovely room. It was very comfortable and spacious. The complimentary breakfast items available was such a great touch. The location is great, just far enough away from the craziness of the crowds.
What could be improved: The shower is very small but I’m also aware that is down to the limitations of the building.Clean and comfortable accomodation in an excellent location – Brittany from Italy – 13 April 2025 (10/10)
We really enjoyed our stay at Soggiorno Pezzati. The apartment was super clean, comfortable and quiet. It’s also a short walk to the main train station and all of the key sights. We only wished that the kitchen had been stocked with coffee!
Excellent room but no parking – Rey from United Kingdom – 4 March 2025 (9/10)
The room was very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The location was convenient. The bathroom was also very clean and well maintained.
What could be improved: The ad says there is parking but there is not. The parking available is in a garage nearby which cost us about €40 per night. This made the stay much more expensive than expected.Quite lovely. – Lydia from United States – 15 October 2024 (10/10)
Room was very clean..staff was kind and had my welfare in mind during my stay.
What could be improved: Nothing
