Located on Via Pablo Picasso in Prato – and yes, I had to double-check that street name too – this 4-star spot sits in one of those neighborhoods where you’ll hear Italian families chatting from their balconies in the evening, which honestly beats tourist trap noise any day. The apartment itself has this lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake; the kind of place where someone clearly thought about how you’d actually want to spend your time. I mean, there’s a proper kitchen where you can make morning coffee without wrestling with one of those tiny hotel contraptions, and the living area has enough space to spread out your day’s worth of Florence photos (because let’s be honest, you’re going to take hundreds).

What really makes this place work is how it sits in relation to Florence – you’re close enough that the train ride is nothing, but far enough that you’re not paying Florence prices for everything. Prato itself surprised me; it’s got this authentic Tuscan rhythm without the crowds stumbling around with selfie sticks. The neighborhood around Via Pablo Picasso is residential in the best way – there’s a little alimentari down the street where the owner will recommend cheese like she’s known you for years, and the morning sounds are church bells and espresso machines rather than tour buses. Parking was actually manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in central Italy will tell you is worth mentioning. The apartment’s setup makes sense for how people actually travel now – sometimes you want to grab dinner out, sometimes you want to pick up ingredients at the local market and cook something simple while planning the next day’s adventures.

Here’s the thing about the 9.5 rating – it’s not just numbers on a screen. You can feel it in details like how the shower actually has proper water pressure, how the Wi-Fi works without constantly reconnecting, and how the check-in process doesn’t involve standing around wondering if you’re in the right place. The beds are comfortable enough that you won’t wake up planning your chiropractor visit, and the windows open to let in that particular Italian morning air that somehow smells like sunshine and stone.   Very spacious, clean and comfortable apartment in a convenient location close to Florence (center of Florence easily reachable by train). Easy parking nearby the apartment. Supermarket in walking distance.
  
  What could be improved: The electricity supply was not stable at the time of our stay, so the air-conditioning was off the first night which was not pleasant. Not sure if this is a problem of the apartment or general supply of electricity in that area.

  Both Gabriella and Alessandro were amazing, kind and open hearted people! They are def the best hosts I've ever had, and I do travel a lot. From the first step into the flat we felt how good it smells. The apartment is huuuge, looks bigger then on the pictures, it's absolutely furnished and designed very unique.
