Residenza Benizzi rooms in the heart of Florence
First Impressions
Walking up to Residenza Benizzi rooms in the heart of Florence on Via de’ Guicciardini, you immediately understand why this place gets such rave reviews. The building itself has that authentic Florentine charm — you know, the kind where you feel like you’re stepping into someone’s elegant family home rather than a typical hotel. It’s tucked right into the Santo Spirito neighborhood, which honestly is one of my favorite parts of Florence because it still feels genuinely local despite being so central.
Location Magic
Here’s the thing about this four-star property — the location is absolutely unbeatable. I mean, you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the Pitti Palace and the Oltrarno district, where all the best artisan workshops are hidden away. The Ponte Vecchio? Maybe five minutes on foot. But what I love most is that you’re on the “other side” of the river, so you get this perfect balance of being close to everything while avoiding the tourist crowds that pack the areas around the Duomo. Couples seem to get this immediately — apparently they rate the location a perfect 10, and I totally understand why.
The Accommodations
The room I stayed in was beautifully appointed with this mix of classic Florentine style and modern comfort that actually works. You’ll find high ceilings, original architectural details, and furnishings that feel thoughtfully chosen rather than just ordered from a hotel catalog. The bathrooms are well-designed too — not huge, but everything you need is there and it’s all quality fixtures. What struck me most was how quiet everything was, despite being right in the heart of the city.
Neighborhood Gems
Santo Spirito is where you want to be if you’re looking for authentic Florence. There’s this amazing morning market in the piazza that locals actually use, and the bars around here serve proper aperitivo without the tourist markup you’ll find closer to the main sights. I discovered this little restaurant called Il Santo Bevitore just around the corner that serves some of the best Tuscan food I’ve had — and trust me, the staff at Residenza Benizzi will point you toward spots like this that you’d never find on your own.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Florence has plenty of places to stay, but this one gets the fundamentals right in a way that’s surprisingly rare. The location score of 9.9 isn’t just marketing fluff — you really can walk everywhere you want to go, but you’re staying somewhere that feels like the real Florence rather than a tourist bubble. The staff clearly know the neighborhood well and seem genuinely interested in helping you make the most of your time here. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next trip back to Florence before you’ve even checked out.

Andrea, who received me, was very friendly and welcoming. Also, Noemi was helpful via WhatsApp when I needed info on how to get to the airport :)
The common area (kitchen) was very good too!
