I’ll be straight with you — Pontassieve isn’t exactly Florence, but that’s actually the point. You’re about 20 minutes from the city center by car, which means you get the best of both worlds: easy access to the Renaissance madness when you want it, and peaceful countryside when you need to decompress. The parking situation is brilliant — completely free and right on-site, which anyone who’s tried to park in Florence will appreciate. Couples seem to really get this location (the 9.0 rating from pairs makes total sense), because there’s something romantic about being surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards.

The Room Experience

My room had this perfect balance of rustic and refined — think exposed beams but with modern amenities that actually work. The beds are seriously comfortable, and I mean the kind where you actually sleep well, not just Instagram-worthy. What struck me most was the attention to detail; everything from the linens to the bathroom fixtures felt thoughtfully chosen rather than bulk-ordered. The views vary depending on which room you get, but honestly, even the “lesser” views are pretty stunning when you’re looking out at Tuscan countryside.

The restaurant here surprised me — I wasn’t expecting much from a smaller property, but the kitchen really knows what they’re doing.   This location was amazing! Giovanni and his mother were very helpful, showing up the way to the apartment and giving us an extensive tour. It was rustic yet modern with a full kitchen, three bedrooms, and a spacious bathroom and living room. In front was a beautiful outdoor sitting area. The best part was the views, they were breathtaking and truly worth it. If you're staying in the summer, there is also a nice pool and a ping pong table.

  The property grounds were well maintained. Even though it was a little chilly, the pool was always ready. The gardens were nicely maintained. The young lady showed us everything we needed upon arrival, and the apartment was very spacious and clean. We enjoyed walking along the vines, watching the deers.

  We had a wonderful stay! Was so peaceful and beautiful… the pool is fantastic!! Everyone was very friendly. We went for a friends reunion and all had a wonderful time. Also very easy to get the train into Florence!

  Real Tuscan countryside, beautiful view. The house is just like in the photos, cozy and Giovanni is very kind and helpful. Perfect location for visiting Florence, San Gimignano and Siena as well

  Very nice hosts, they helped us to get back to railway station at Sieci.
  Its a vintage type of a building, cosy with rustic finish. If you are into old houses, this is very good. You need a car to get around. We did not have one, but walking downhill to Sieci station didn't feel tiring, even with three children. It was about 1.8 km walk. Area is beautiful.
  you can walk up through the vine yard, to the carpeted road from above the hill. (path exists, not shown in google maps) It has a nice view if town below if you walk further up.
