Podere il Casone Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Podere il Casone, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this four-star property tucked away on via marlianese. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones that surprise you. This place has that authentic Tuscan farmhouse feel — not the touristy kind, but the real deal where you can actually imagine generations of Italian families living and working the land. The moment you arrive, you sense the care that goes into maintaining this special corner of Tuscany.

Location & Getting Around

The thing about Serravalle Pistoiese is that it’s perfectly positioned if you want to explore Tuscany without dealing with Florence crowds every single day. I mean, you’re close enough to hit the major cities when you want culture and museums, but far enough away that you can breathe. The parking situation here is actually fantastic — free and private, which honestly saved me a fortune compared to what I was paying in the bigger towns. Couples seem to get this location strategy better than anyone, and I can see why they rate it so highly. You’ll find yourself appreciating the balance between accessibility and tranquility.

The Property Experience

What struck me most was how this place manages to feel both rustic and polished at the same time. The room I stayed in had those thick stone walls that keep everything cool during the day, and the views — well, let’s just say I spent way too much time on my little terrace with morning coffee. The staff here actually knows your name after the first day, which is refreshing when you’ve been bouncing between impersonal chain hotels. Every detail reflects thoughtful design and genuine attention to guest comfort.

Practical Comforts

Look, I’m not going to pretend this is some massive resort with every amenity under the sun, but it has what matters. The restaurant serves proper local food — not the watered-down tourist version — and they source a lot of ingredients from nearby farms. I actually ended up eating there more nights than I planned because, honestly, after a day of sightseeing, the last thing you want is to drive around looking for dinner. The whole setup just works without trying too hard, and that’s precisely what makes it special.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.6 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — you feel it when you’re there. It’s the kind of place where you slow down without realizing it, where checking your phone becomes less urgent, and where you start planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out. The combination of genuine hospitality, that perfect not-too-remote-but-still-peaceful location, and the fact that everything just functions smoothly makes it stick with you. I’ve recommended Podere il Casone to friends who want real Tuscany without the tourist circus, and they always thank me later. This property truly captures the essence of authentic Tuscan hospitality.

Reviews of Podere il Casone

Relaxing place to stay and rest between daytrips to Pisa and Florence. We were enjoying surrounding nature and living in Tuscan house with all the needed amenities. Kids were enjoying table tennis, pool and even Netflix as a treat. Also there is full gym for cardio and bodybuilding. Sadly our stay was too short to experience all the goodies this place provided.

  • Pretscher from Austria (10/10)

It was a short but great insight into the beautiful area of Tuscany. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the landscape. We really liked the peace and nature.🌸🌺

The family was very friendly and kind.

Everything is available for holidays with children. An occasional pet is also given with the cute dog. 🐾🐶All in all, it was perfect.

    We'll be back for sure.😉

We've spent a great holiday at Podere Il Casone. The location is beautiful and quiet on the top of a small hill. The garden is very big, with fruit and olive trees everywhere and a nice pool at the end.
It's less than an hour drive to Piza, Lucca and Firenze.
The house itself is basic, but everything you need is there.
Hosts are very nice and help with anything they can. Our son had a bad cut from stepping into a glass, and it was taking care of the hosts mother -who's a doctor- so we didn't have to go to the hospotal.
    Great value for money!

My family and I, including a dog, had the pleasure of staying at Podere il Casone during February and it was an overall very positive experience.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the host Corrado, whose genuine hospitality is outstanding. The guest house itself is a charming retreat, surrounded by nature, and offers a great escape from everyday life. Everything was impeccably clean, decorated in rustic style making the perfect blend of comfort and cosiness.
In addition to the accommodations, the host and members of his family went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and make the most of our stay.
Overall, we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway in Italy's enchanting countryside.
Grazie mille to the host and his family at Podere il Casone for the great experience!
