First Impressions

Walking up to Petrarca Apartment on Viale Francesco Petrarca, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from an apartment-style property in Florence. But you know what? This four-star place surprised me right from the start. The building has that classic Florentine elegance without being stuffy, and there’s something refreshing about having your own space rather than just another hotel room. The staff greeted me like I was checking into a boutique property — professional but warm, which set the tone for everything that followed.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about Florence — location is absolutely everything, and Petrarca Apartment nailed it. You’re in what locals consider one of the best residential areas, away from the tourist chaos but still walkable to the major sights. I mean, the Oltrarno district is just across the river, and you can actually reach the Pitti Palace in about fifteen minutes on foot. The neighborhood feels authentically Florentine — there’s a fantastic local market nearby, and the morning coffee ritual at the corner bar became part of my daily routine. Couples really seem to love this area (and I can see why), since it strikes that perfect balance between romantic and livable.

The Apartment Experience

What makes this place special is the apartment setup — you get a proper living space, not just a bedroom with a tiny desk. The kitchenette actually works if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the local market and cook something simple. The decor leans modern but respectful of the building’s character, and honestly, it feels more like staying in a well-appointed friend’s place than a typical hotel. The Wi-Fi is solid (important for those of us who can’t completely disconnect), and the air conditioning works properly — which, trust me, matters during Florence’s sticky summers.

Practical Comforts

The bathroom situation is what you’d expect from a four-star property — clean, modern, with a proper shower that has decent water pressure. Storage space is generous, which is rare in Florence accommodations. What I appreciated most was the attention to details that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two. There’s actual counter space, good lighting for getting ready, and the bed is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with Italian mattress springs all night.

Why Guests Love It

After spending time here, I get why this place consistently rates well with visitors. It’s that rare combination of independence and service — you have your own space to spread out and live a bit, but there’s still someone to help when you need it. The location score speaks for itself, but what the numbers don’t capture is how this area lets you experience Florence like you actually live here, even if it’s just for a few days. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having a proper apartment base while exploring one of the world’s most romantic cities. It’s upscale without being pretentious, and practical without sacrificing style.

Hotels in Tuscany crown hilltowns, olive groves, and Renaissance palazzi perfumed with rosemary.

It was clean and there were a lot of amenities. It will be a good place for multiple couples or large families as there were 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Marina was a great host as she made our stay more comfortable and was readily available to address our needs.

Martina is a good host and takes care of the comfort of her guests. The apartment is great for 2 families with children. There is a pizzeria, many cafes and supermarkets near the apartment. The location is a good starting point for sightseeing.

Allestimento dell'appartamento recente e pulito. Wifi veloce e potente
