Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Maison Bianca on Viale Belfiore, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s this understated building that you could easily walk past, but that’s actually part of its charm. The moment you step inside though, you realize you’ve found something special. The owner, Bianca (yes, it’s actually her name), greets you like you’re staying at your Italian aunt’s house, except your aunt has impeccable taste and probably studied interior design.

The location is what really sold me on this place. You’re in Santa Maria Novella, which means you can walk to the train station in about ten minutes – super handy if you’re doing the multi-city Italy thing. But here’s what the booking sites don’t tell you: you’re also just a few blocks from this incredible local market on Via Sant’Antonino where actual Florentines shop. I mean, forget the touristy San Lorenzo market for a second and go grab your morning coffee and pastry where the locals do. The B&B sits on a tree-lined street that’s quiet enough that you won’t hear scooters revving at 6 AM (trust me, this matters in Florence), but you’re still close enough to walk to the Duomo in about fifteen minutes.

What really gets me about Maison Bianca is the attention to detail that you only notice after you’ve been there a day or two. The breakfast – and I’m picky about breakfast – features local honey, fresh fruit from the market, and these incredible cornetti that Bianca sources from a bakery around the corner. The rooms themselves feel more like staying in a beautifully curated apartment than a hotel. Mine had these gorgeous hardwood floors that creaked just slightly (in a charming way, not annoying), and the bathroom had this rainfall shower that actually had decent water pressure. You know what I loved most though? The little balcony off my room where I could sit with my evening aperitivo and watch the neighborhood come alive. There’s something about seeing Italian families heading out for their evening passeggiata that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the real Florence, not just the museum version. The WiFi worked perfectly (essential for staying connected), and Bianca always had great recommendations – she steered me toward this tiny osteria on Via del Sole that I never would have found otherwise. Honestly, with an 8.8 rating, this place delivers exactly what you’d hope for from a well-run B&B in one of the world’s most beautiful cities.

  • Perfect Base for Exploring Florence – Vit from Czech Republic – 25 June 2025 (9/10)

We really liked the great location of the accommodation, which is very close to both the airport and the city center. The staff were very kind and helpful. At the reception, there was a map of the city showing the main landmarks and other important spots, making it much easier for us to get around the city during our stay. Plus, the hotel staff even marked the hotel’s location and some other places on the map beforehand, which was really helpful. Breakfasts were great. Overall, a great place to stay – highly recommended!

What could be improved: There was some mold in the shower, and the toilet seat was a bit loose.

  • I would have no hesitation in recommending this property. – David from United Kingdom – 23 May 2025 (9/10)

Maison Bianca was very clean and comfortable it was convenient for the main railway station (10 to 15 minutes walk) or 2 minutes from the tram stop. Breakfast was good. The young girl at reception/breakfast was very friendly and helpful and made our stay in Florence more enjoyable by recommending places to visit whilst there.

  • We loved Mason Bianca and would definitely recommend it. – Zurika from South Africa – 5 May 2025 (9/10)

Julia was absolutely awsome, she is so friendly and helpful. 10 out of 10 to Julia. The room was super clean. Breakfast was good, would've just liked savoury croissants and crackers with more cheeses and a little fruit salad.

What could be improved: Nothing! We loved our stay!

  • Little gem – Roberta from United Kingdom – 19 April 2025 (10/10)

Location: quiet area, just two tram stops from S. Maria Novella train station and close to Fortezza da Basso.
Host: excellent treatment by host Giulia, with lovely morning chat.
Room: we had family room n.5, spacious and comfortable with view on main road.
Good night sleep and minibar available.

What could be improved: Only down side, this room is the only one with external private bathroom, which could be an inconvenience sometimes.

  • Fabulous B&B. Highly recommend – Sharon from Australia – 11 April 2025 (10/10)

Lovely hosts. Walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go.

  • Comfortable stay near station – Avik from India – 9 April 2025 (9/10)

The location is a bit away from the city centre but it's near the train station and easily accessible by tram. There is one tram stop just in front of the building. Room had a good city view from balcony. Breakfast was amazing. Good restaurants nearby. Only drawback was the extremely slow elevator of the building otherwise everything was perfect.
