The sound insulation is surprisingly good considering you’re in the city center – I was worried about street noise, but honestly slept better than I expected.

What really sets this place apart is the staff’s approach to hospitality. They seem to actually know Florence rather than just reciting memorized recommendations. When I mentioned wanting to avoid the Uffizi crowds, the front desk guy suggested specific time slots and alternative routes that clearly came from local knowledge, not a guidebook. The breakfast setup is more continental than elaborate, but the coffee is proper Italian strong and they source some items locally – there’s this particular pastry from a bakery nearby that I ended up seeking out on my own later. The 9.1 rating feels earned; it’s not trying to be a luxury palace, but everything works smoothly and feels considered. Even small touches like the lighting in the hallways and the way they handle check-in (quick, no fuss) suggest they understand what travelers actually need. If you’re looking for a pool or spa, obviously this isn’t your spot, but for exploring Florence with a comfortable, well-located base that doesn’t feel like a corporate hotel chain, it hits the mark perfectly.

  Our host Valentino was wonderful- upon arrival he oriented us to the apartment and the city of Florence. He explained all the attractions and gave us recommendations for some excellent restaurants. The apart is spacious and has a delightful little terrace garden. Clean and fresh towels daily. Really wonderful can’t recommend it enough.

  The hotel was very close to the train station, which was convenient for us. The hotel was beautifully decorated with a gorgeous view. But the best part was our host, who made sure we felt at home & took the time to introduce us to Florence.
