La Corte Del Re Suite & Rooms Arezzo Overview

You know what struck me first about La Corte Del Re? The name sounds way fancier than the actual vibe, which is honestly refreshing. It’s tucked away on Via Borgunto – and I mean really tucked away, you’ll probably walk past it once before spotting the entrance. But that’s kind of the charm. While everyone else is staying near the main drag dealing with tourist chaos, you’re on this quiet residential street that feels authentically Arezzo. The building itself has that understated Tuscan elegance thing going on, not trying too hard to scream “historic hotel” like some places do. Check-in was smooth, though the lobby’s smaller than you might expect from the photos – but honestly, who spends time in hotel lobbies anyway?

The rooms are where this place really delivers, and I get why they went with “Suite & Rooms” in the name. Even the standard rooms feel spacious by Italian standards, with these beautiful original details like exposed beams and stone accents that don’t feel forced or overly restored. The beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in boutique places), and the bathrooms are modern without being sterile. What I really appreciated was the soundproofing – Via Borgunto isn’t exactly a busy street, but Italian mornings can get lively, and I slept through everything. The air conditioning works properly too, which matters if you’re visiting during those brutal July-August stretches when Arezzo turns into an oven.

Location-wise, you’re about a seven-minute walk to Piazza Grande, which means you can easily hit the antique market on the first weekend of each month without dealing with the crowds that swamp the hotels right in the center. The staff actually knows the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this little alimentari around the corner that locals use, and honestly, that recommendation made my whole stay. Parking’s the usual Italian hotel nightmare, but they’ve got a deal with a nearby garage that’s way less stressful than trying to navigate those medieval streets with a rental car. The breakfast is solid without being spectacular – fresh pastries, decent coffee, and they don’t rush you out, which I appreciated. I mean, the 8.5 rating makes sense when you add it all up. It’s not trying to be the most luxurious place in Tuscany, but it nails the things that actually matter when you’re exploring a city like Arezzo. You’ll pay a bit more than the generic chain options, but you’re getting that boutique experience without the pretension.

Reviews of La Corte Del Re Suite & Rooms Arezzo

  • Very nice. Very beautiful hotel and location. – Maria from United States – 19 June 2025 (8/10)

The room was large, more like a suite, beautiful and charming, and faced Piazza Grande and the historical center of Arezzo.

Simona who checked us in was delightful.

What could be improved: There seemed to be a deliberate push for us to buy products. Before we even arrived in Arezzo we received promotional material. This is uninvited. Also, I went to ask a basic question and the blonde woman at reception at the time was quite rude, questioning whether we were even in the hotel!

  • Everything went well. – Aidala from United States – 19 June 2025 (8/10)

The building was comfortable and, charming, is a former medieval stone palace. The location is amazing: right next to the Piazza Grande. Moreover, an attached kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, and dishes made it possible for me to eat in and save money. The hotel room was spacious. An excellent value for the money.

  • Great location. Let down by poor breakfast and wifi. – Paul from United Kingdom – 27 May 2025 (7/10)

Great location. Room of generous size and well furnished.
    Warm welcome.

What could be improved: They offer only a few dry biscuits with small pots of jam, small glasses of juice and tiny volumes of coffee, espresso style. This was very poor value at €10 extra per person. Better to buy in your own provisions from a shop.
Wifi good in public sitting room but useless in bedroom.

  • great experience, better than I expected, felt very safe and comfortable, I would return! – Melissa from United States – 26 April 2025 (10/10)

comfortable bed, large room, heated towel rack, location, staff was so helpful and welcoming, room was clean and decor was very nice, wish we would have been able to stay longer but we only has one night before we departed, I think the room with the kitchenette was so nice and wish we had stayed at least one more night

What could be improved: only hand soap in the room, wish there would have been more toiletries for convenience, the espresso maker is very nice – maybe option to make hot tea would be additional option as well

  • Very good and excellent reception – Edite from Portugal – 16 April 2025 (9/10)

The apartment is in the very centre of Arezzo, in Piazza Grande, very well located with easy acess to every key spot by walk. The condicions are very good, everything was perfectly clean and the bedroom has more than enough space, very good conditions. We were welcomed by Simona, who was very friendly during the entire stay and was 100% available to help us and guarantee that we had the best experience possible, also recomending some very good restaurants! Thanks to Simona for all the attention and good welcoming! Totally recomend this spot

  • Exceptional – Rostyslav from Poland – 7 April 2025 (10/10)

Communication with the reception is very good. The apartments are located at the main square, close to railway station. It has everything needs: kitchen with all the staff for cooking, heating. The bedroom and bathroom were perfectly clean.

  • Exceptional – Zihao from Italy – 5 April 2025 (10/10)

Absolutely amazing. One of the greatest hotels I’ve ever encountered. Cozy vibe, warm heating, tranquil view from the window, situated in the exact old centre of Arezzo. The staff was very helpful and the self check-in experience was also good.

  • Excellent location. Very quiet and comfortable – Gary from United States – 20 March 2025 (9/10)

Location. It is located in the city center.

What could be improved: No elevator.

  • Great stay, beautiful location on the main square of Arezzo – Claudia from Switzerland – 6 November 2024 (9/10)

    Property with charm. Amazing location

What could be improved: The room is a bit dark, but its not a place to stay in the room!!!

  • Amazing – Joseph from United Kingdom – 18 October 2024 (10/10)
