You know what struck me first about Hotel Francia E Quirinale? The way it sits on Viale IV Novembre like it’s been watching over Montecatini Terme for decades – and honestly, it probably has. This isn’t one of those cookie-cutter places you find everywhere; it’s got that solid, established feel that screams “we know what we’re doing.” The lobby has this old-world elegance thing going on, but not in a stuffy way – more like your sophisticated Italian aunt’s living room, if that makes sense. Check-in was smooth as silk, and the staff actually remembered my name by day two, which doesn’t happen often these days.

The location is honestly perfect if you’re here for the thermal waters (I mean, why else would you be in Montecatini?). You’re literally a five-minute stroll from the main thermal parks, and the morning walk there became part of my routine – past the little cafés that smell like fresh cornetti and espresso, with locals heading to work and tourists like me trying to look like we belong. The rooms are spacious by European standards, and mine had this great view of the tree-lined street below. Sure, you’ll hear some traffic during the day, but it’s that gentle Italian hum, not honking chaos. The beds are actually comfortable – I’m picky about this stuff – and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showerheads that made me want to stay in there forever.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to detail without being fussy about it. The breakfast spread was generous and fresh, with local pastries that beat anything I’d had in Florence the week before. The dining room gets busy around 8:30 AM, so if you’re an early riser like me, you’ll have the pick of the tables by the windows. Parking was included, which saved me about 15 euros a day compared to the public lots near the center – and trust me, navigating those narrow streets is stressful enough without worrying about where to leave your car. The evening crowd in the lobby bar was a nice mix of Italian families and international guests, creating this relaxed atmosphere where you could actually strike up conversations. Service throughout was that perfect Italian balance of attentive but not hovering. I’d definitely come back, especially during the quieter months when you can really soak in the thermal town vibe without the summer crowds.

  The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very smart and cared for. Our room was perfect, cleaned every day and beds very comfortable. We took the train every day, and it was only a short walk from the hotel to the station. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

  The hotel was very clean and well maintained, the rooms were very comfortable and clean, we had dinner and breakfast here, both were delicious with attentive staff and a varied menu. Location was perfect for walking to the train station, the town and many of the sights.

  Very nice and very clean hotel, bed super comfortable, large bathroom, property is perfectly located in a walking distance to a park and the central part of the city. Breakfast was delicious with high quality products, coffee was great. All staff is amazing – especially on reception desk and the ladies on breakfast! Very smiley, kind and helpful. We got a free room upgrade which was a wonderful surprise! The reception staff helped us with the parking tickets on the street.
  Hotel is a top choice for exploring the nearby cities. We would definitely come again. Highly recommended.
