The staff actually remembers your name after day one, which is refreshing in a city where tourists can feel like cattle being herded around.

Here’s the thing about staying right on the Arno – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Ponte Vecchio, but you’re also far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually think. The rooms facing the river are worth the splurge (trust me on this), especially if you snag one of the higher floors. I spent way too much time just watching the light change on the water and the way the Oltrarno neighborhood comes alive across the river. The rooms themselves feel authentically Florentine – think rich fabrics and antique touches without being overly fussy. Actually, the bathrooms are surprisingly modern, which matters more than you’d think after a long day of walking on those unforgiving cobblestones. One small thing – the elevators are those charming old European ones that fit maybe two people and a small suitcase, so don’t pack like you’re moving permanently.

What really sells this place is the location knowledge the concierge team has. They don’t just point you toward the Uffizi like every other hotel – they’ll tell you which entrance to Santa Croce has the shortest line at 3 PM on a Tuesday, or where to find that little wine bar near Santo Spirito that doesn’t show up in guidebooks. The breakfast setup overlooks the river, and while it’s not going to blow your mind, there’s something magical about having your cappuccino while watching the city wake up. The whole Tornabuoni area is perfect for that mix of high-end shopping and authentic neighborhood feel – you can hit the designer stores on Via Tornabuoni, then duck into a local osteria for lunch without feeling like you’re being shuttled between tourist attractions. Honestly, with a 9.1 rating, I was expecting maybe some corners cut here and there, but the attention to detail really shows. It’s the kind of place where you’d actually want to come back to Florence just to stay here again.

  Beautiful and clean hotel and interior. The property is located facing the river where the surroundings are beautiful all day. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The belreakfast is amazing! Centrally located and easily accessible to the main sites and station. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone and would stay there again when I visit.
