I actually liked that the bathroom had a proper shower with good water pressure (trust me, after staying in some “charming” historic places in Tuscany, this matters more than you think). The air conditioning worked perfectly too, which was clutch during my July visit when Siena was basically an outdoor oven.

Here’s what really won me over though – the breakfast situation is solid, and they have this terrace area where you can sit with your coffee and actually see glimpses of the countryside rolling away from the city. It’s not a dramatic panoramic view or anything, but there’s something nice about starting your day looking out at those gentle Tuscan hills instead of staring at another building. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s tried to navigate a car through Siena’s medieval streets will tell you is basically a miracle. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet at night – you’re not dealing with late-night revelers stumbling past your window, but you’re also not so far out that you feel disconnected. I walked to dinner in the centro storico most nights, and honestly, after a day of tourist crowds, that little buffer zone felt refreshing. The walk back uphill after dinner and wine was… well, let’s just say it’s good motivation to pace yourself with the Chianti. Look, this isn’t going to be the most atmospheric hotel you’ve ever stayed in – you’re not sleeping in a converted monastery or anything romantic like that. But if you want a reliable, comfortable base for exploring Siena without the premium prices of the hotels right in the historic center, this place delivers exactly what it promises.
