Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Florence Luxury Guest House? The fact that it’s tucked away on Via Iacopo da Diacceto – honestly, I’d walked past this street dozens of times before actually noticing it. It’s one of those quiet side streets that branches off from the main Santa Maria Novella area, which means you’re literally a three-minute walk from the train station but somehow completely removed from all that tourist chaos. The building itself has this understated elegance thing going on – not flashy, but you can tell someone put real thought into the details. The entrance feels more like stepping into a well-appointed private residence than a typical hotel, which I guess is exactly what they’re going for with the whole “guest house” concept.

What really sets this place apart (and I mean this) is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between luxury and livability. The rooms are spacious by Florence standards – and trust me, space is premium in this city – with these gorgeous original hardwood floors that creak just enough to remind you you’re in a historic building. The bathrooms are surprisingly modern without feeling sterile, and honestly, the water pressure is better than most places I’ve stayed in Italy. You’ll appreciate that after a day of climbing to the top of the Duomo. The staff seems to actually know the neighborhood too, which is rarer than you’d think. They pointed me toward this little osteria on Via del Melarancio that I never would have found otherwise – the kind of place where locals go for lunch and tourists somehow miss entirely.

Location-wise, you’re in this perfect pocket where you can walk to everything that matters without being right in the middle of the madness. The Basilica of Santa Maria Novella is practically next door, and you can cut through the side streets to hit the main shopping areas around Via de’ Tornabuoni in about ten minutes. What I really loved though was coming back in the evenings – this neighborhood gets quiet after dinner, so you can actually sleep without earplugs (something I definitely can’t say about hotels closer to the Ponte Vecchio). The 8.4 rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Florence, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re traveling. The only minor thing is that the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in some rooms, but honestly, you’re in Florence – go walk around instead of staring at your phone.

Easy to access. Good communication. Very clean and comfortable.

  • Charlotte from United Kingdom (7/10)

It looked nice on the inside and has clearly been recently refurbished. It was more or less clean with bed made everday (just dusty wine glasses!) It was very close to the train station as specified so had good access to transportation links. Also checking in was easy and fun via WhatsApp messages, It felt like a little treasure hunt!! After check-out, they also let you stow your bags in the corridor if you needed to and collect them later in the day. Also, the shower had great pressure and they provided lovely shower gel.

  • Robert from Australia (9/10)

Very nice accommodation, centrally located. Clean, well equipped and with a luxury feel. We really appreciated the availability of bottled water and wine for purchase in the room.

  • Keith from United Kingdom (8/10)

Well decorated, modern feel and secure.

Restaurant recommendations (and the discounts) were good.

Arrival instructions were easy and clear.

  • Steph from United Kingdom (9/10)

The location was excellent, very close to the train station and only around 20 minutes to everything else we wanted to do/ see. The room was well decorated and clean and had everything we needed. The check in instructions were very helpful and clear. There is a little bit of noise from trams passing as other reviews have mentioned but this didn’t bother us at all and we still managed to get good, restful sleeps.

  • Silvina from Australia (9/10)

Once inside the rooms it was surprising better than expected and the word luxury seemed to have been used correctly. All the facilities necessary were there available and staff were helpful once we got hold of them.

  • Laura from United Kingdom (9/10)

    Location was amazing!
Round the corner from train station and tram to the airport!
10/15 min walk to the Duomo and to all the bars and restaurants. We loved a cafe on the corner where we grabbed breakfast everyday.

Room was amazing, clean and staff are very accomodating! Our hairdryer didnt work and 20 mins later i had a new one in my hands!

Thank you for your hospitality i will definitely be back!!

The property was ideal for what we needed for a couple of nights, not bad price for Florence and location was good, 20 minute walk to the center and 5 minutes from train stop. Bed was really comfy and early check in time!
