Donati Luxury Tower Suites
Florence, ItalyOkay, so I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Donati Luxury Tower Suites, I was skeptical. Another “luxury” place in Florence’s historic center? But walking into this place on Piazza Sant’Elisabetta actually made me stop in my tracks. The location is ridiculous – and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Duomo, but somehow you’ve escaped into this quiet little piazza that most tourists rush right past. The building itself has this gorgeous stone facade that clearly belongs here, not like some of these modern hotels that stick out like sore thumbs.
The suites themselves are… well, they’re proper suites, not those fake “suites” that are just regular rooms with a sitting area crammed in. Mine had these incredible floor-to-ceiling windows that looked out over the medieval rooftops – you know, the kind of view that makes you stand there with your coffee for way too long in the morning. The design walks this perfect line between respecting the building’s history and actually being comfortable to live in. The bathroom marble looked like it came from the same quarries Michelangelo used (probably did, knowing Florence), and the bed was one of those situations where you actually sleep better than you do at home. What really got me was the attention to details you don’t usually notice – like how the air conditioning is whisper-quiet, which matters when you’re trying to sleep with the windows open to catch those evening breezes off the Arno.
Here’s what I really love about this place though – the staff actually knows Florence. Not just the obvious tourist stuff, but they pointed me toward this little enoteca on Via dei Neri that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned I was looking for decent running routes, the concierge sketched out this perfect early morning loop through Oltrarno before the crowds wake up. The whole experience feels intentional, if that makes sense. Like someone who actually cares about hospitality designed every interaction. Sure, you’re paying for all this – it’s not a budget situation by any stretch – but honestly, when you’re in a city as overwhelming as Florence, having a place that feels this much like a sanctuary is worth it. Plus, being able to duck back to your room between morning sightseeing and evening dinner without dealing with buses or taxis? That’s the kind of luxury that actually improves your trip, not just your Instagram.

It was more than a great stay it made our trip to florance memorable .
And the location , two mins only from the dumo
I highly recommend this place .
What could be improved: Nothing
Maybe only the price , though it was worth it .
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: Since the suite is located in historic corner of the city, the road is small. Our big taxi van cannot get into the front of the hotel. We need to wheel our luggage upon arrival.
What could be improved: The pool and roof deck were very small and required a fee which we did not anticipate
Stunningly Beautiful - 10
What could be improved: No one at front desk 24 hours
The suites themselves were elegant, spacious and very comfortable, offering a peaceful retreat in the middle of the city. The staff was exceptional—friendly, professional, and always willing to help with anything we needed.
