Domus Nannini SPA – Palazzo Nannini
Siena, ItalyFirst Impressions
Walking up to Domus Nannini SPA – Palazzo Nannini, you immediately sense you’ve stumbled onto something special in Siena‘s historic heart. This isn’t your typical hotel — it’s actually a restored palazzo that feels more like staying in a sophisticated private residence. The building itself has this understated elegance that fits perfectly with Siena’s medieval character, and honestly, the location on Via Costa dell’Incrociata couldn’t be better positioned for exploring the city’s winding streets. The palazzo represents a thoughtful restoration that honors its heritage while welcoming contemporary travelers.
The Rooms and Spa Experience
The rooms here strike that perfect balance between historical charm and modern comfort. You’ll find original architectural details — think exposed beams and stone accents — paired with contemporary furnishings that actually work together beautifully. What really sets Domus Nannini apart, though, is the spa facilities. After spending hours wandering Siena’s cobblestone streets (which, let me tell you, can be tough on the feet), having access to proper spa treatments right in your hotel is honestly a game-changer. The wellness area feels intimate and well-designed, not like some afterthought addition. Each treatment space has been carefully curated to enhance relaxation and rejuvenation.
Location and Getting Around
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re close enough to everything that matters in Siena, but tucked away on a quieter street that gives you some breathing room from the tourist crowds. The Piazza del Campo is just a pleasant walk away, and you can easily reach the Duomo without breaking a sweat. I mean, Siena isn’t huge, but staying somewhere that puts you right in the sweet spot between accessibility and tranquility makes a real difference in how you experience the city. The positioning of this palazzo offers guests an ideal vantage point for discovering local treasures.
The Romantic Appeal
It’s no surprise that couples rate this place so highly — there’s something undeniably romantic about the whole setup. The intimate scale of the property means you’re not dealing with crowded lobbies or impersonal service, and the spa facilities give you a perfect excuse to unwind together after sightseeing. The palazzo’s historic atmosphere, combined with those thoughtful modern touches, creates exactly the kind of setting that makes for memorable romantic getaways. You know what I mean — it’s sophisticated without being stuffy. The ambiance throughout encourages connection and relaxation.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.4 rating really tells the story here. Guests consistently praise the exceptional location and the personal attention you get at Domus Nannini SPA. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay special, and the combination of the spa amenities with the prime Siena location creates something pretty unique. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’ve discovered a hidden gem rather than just booked another hotel room. For couples especially, this palazzo offers that perfect blend of romance, relaxation, and authentic Tuscan atmosphere that’s honestly hard to find elsewhere in the city.
Hotel in Tuscany reservations surge before white truffle fairs when hilltown piazzas brim with foodies.

Guest Reviews
We loved our stay and hope to return.
What could be improved: The kitchen was a bit awkward but we'll forgive that.
What could be improved: Not good for someone who doesn't like stairs!
What could be improved: nothing! it was perfect
What could be improved: Being in our early and late 70’s, going up and down the stairs to the bedroom was a little bit difficult, but nothing major.
What could be improved: Can’t think of any negatives!
Couldn’t rate our experience higher. Host also organised our valet parking.
What could be improved: N/A
What could be improved: The one thing we would’ve enjoyed, would’ve been a shower versus a tub to stand in to take a shower and a little more counterspace in the bathroom but other than that, it was perfect. Again we highly recommend the valet parking service was $15 per night, and it was an incredible value.
