Dimora Collection – Le Corti – Boutique Luxury Suites in a Restored 13th Century Convent, with Sauna and Gym
Florence, ItalyYou know what? I’ve walked past this place on Via Bufalini dozens of times without realizing what was hidden behind those ancient walls. The Dimora Collection’s Le Corti sits right in the heart of Florence’s Duomo district — I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the cathedral, but tucked away on a side street that most tourists rush past on their way to the main attractions. When you finally step inside, it hits you immediately: this used to be a 13th-century convent, and they’ve somehow managed to keep all that medieval soul while making it feel like the most sophisticated boutique hotel in the city.
The restoration work here is honestly incredible. They’ve preserved these gorgeous vaulted ceilings and stone archways that make you feel like you’re living in a piece of history, but then you’ve got these sleek modern suites with heated bathroom floors and rain showers that actually work properly (trust me, that’s not a given in Florence’s historic buildings). The rooms are spacious by Italian standards — and I mean genuinely spacious, not just “well, it’s bigger than a closet” spacious. What really got me was the attention to detail: thick walls that actually block out street noise, which is a miracle in this part of town, and these beautiful terrazzo floors that stay cool even during those sweltering August afternoons when the city feels like an oven.
The sauna and gym are tucked away in what used to be the convent’s lower levels, and there’s something almost surreal about working out in a space where nuns once walked centuries ago. It’s small but well-equipped, and honestly, after a full day of climbing the Duomo and battling crowds at the Uffizi, that sauna feels like pure luxury. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood — they’ll send you to the little enoteca around the corner on Via del Corso instead of the tourist traps, and they understand that sometimes you just need someone to explain how the hell the ZTL traffic zones work if you’re brave enough to drive in Florence. The whole place has this intimate feel that you just can’t get at the bigger hotels near Santa Maria Novella, and with only a handful of suites, it never feels crowded or rushed. Plus, being right in the Duomo area means you can stumble back from dinner at Osteria del Porcellino without navigating the maze of Florence’s medieval streets in the dark — which, let me tell you, is a blessing after a few glasses of Chianti.

Guest Reviews
The highlight was undoubtedly our room, which featured a spacious, beautiful balcony where we could unwind and relax at night after the long day.
Moreover, I cannot praise Lorenzo and Arian, the property managers, enough. Their warm hospitality and genuine kindness made a positive difference. They took the time to guide us through Florence’s hidden gems, including charming restaurants and unique local shops, enriching our visit so wonderfully.
This hotel truly exceeded our expectations, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again the next time I am in Florence.
What could be improved: Nothing at all
What could be improved: There wasn’t any breakfast offered, which would have been a nice addition—but there are plenty of great cafés nearby.
Complimentary 1 hour gym and sauna was nice, will be amazing once the pool is finished. Didn’t have time to use all the amenities in the media room but they didn’t leave anything out that you’d want, or need. Hampers for additional toiletries and coffee etc were easily accessible.
We were greeted on arrival by lovely staff who gave us a tour of the property. The only thing we could suggest would be to give guests a warning before arrival or the WhatsApp number to contact as we were unsure how to get into the building and needed to message through booking.com that we had arrived.
Check out was seamless.
Fantastic location next to the duomo and even though we were across from the hospital there was no noise at all in our room. Bed was the comfiest we’ve had our whole trip!
What could be improved: Only one thing was being able to hear people in room next door
What could be improved: They really thought about everything. Even some modern anti mosquito appliances were on all the time
What could be improved: Nothing really the whole stay was brilliant.
