And honestly, being in San Lorenzo means you’re perfectly positioned for both the tourist stuff and the real Florence – Sant’Ambrogio market is a pleasant walk through neighborhoods most visitors never see, and you can reach Santa Croce without fighting through the crowds around the cathedral. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but everything works exactly as it should, the design is thoughtful, and the location gives you that insider feeling that’s pretty hard to find in Florence these days.
