First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Cevoli Country Resort, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from this four-star property tucked away in the Tuscan countryside. The approach along Via del Commercio is pretty unassuming, but once you turn into the resort grounds, everything changes. You’re suddenly surrounded by rolling hills and that quintessential Tuscan landscape that makes you want to grab a glass of wine and just sit for a while. The free parking right on-site is actually a bigger deal than you might think — I mean, finding decent parking in rural Italy can be surprisingly tricky.

Location & Setting

What really struck me about this place is how it manages to feel completely secluded while still being accessible to everything you’d want to explore in this part of Tuscany. Lari itself is this charming little hilltop town that most tourists completely miss, which honestly makes it even better. You’re about a 20-minute drive from Pisa if you need to catch a flight, but far enough away that you won’t hear any airport noise. The couples who stay here really seem to get it — there’s something about the setting that just works for romantic getaways.

The Accommodation

I have to say, the beds here are genuinely exceptional. I’m usually pretty skeptical when hotels boast about their mattresses, but this is one of those places where you actually sleep better than you do at home. The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of rustic Tuscan charm and modern comfort — exposed beams overhead but excellent air conditioning when you need it. The bathrooms are well-appointed without being over the top, and you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

Dining & Atmosphere

The on-site restaurant serves up exactly the kind of food you hope for in this region — nothing too fancy, just really solid Tuscan cooking with ingredients that taste like they came from the garden next door (which they probably did). Breakfast is served on the terrace when weather permits, and honestly, starting your day looking out over those hills with a proper Italian coffee is pretty hard to beat. The staff has this relaxed, genuine warmth that you don’t always find at larger properties.

What keeps people coming back here — and I can see why couples rate it so highly — is that it delivers on the Tuscan countryside experience without any of the pretension you sometimes encounter at more famous properties. You’re not fighting crowds for the perfect photo, you’re not dealing with tour buses, and you’re definitely not paying resort prices for a bottle of water. It’s just a really well-run place that understands what travelers actually want: comfortable beds, good food, beautiful surroundings, and the space to actually relax.   We loved everything! The place is wonderful! definitely worth the money! we stayed for only 2 nights but it was so good that we would like to come back next time.. the apartment is beautiful and very clean.. the pool is amazing the garden everything! lovely staffs! 2 nights is not enough!! the supermarket is near also, just 5 mns by car..

  The location is perfect, about 10-15mins from the historical town of Lari, with some very nice restaurants and a wonderful gelato place. It has a little supermarket down the road, which sells pretty much everything you will need. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, speaking very good English and being very helpful with booking restaurants and advice on where to park for the train into Pisa and Florence. The pool is clean, and with only 6 or 8 apartments, we had it to ourselves often. They have their own vegetable patch, which you can help yourself to. You could wish for much more.

  spacious apartment in lovely surroundings. Lovely little touches like fresh flowers in all the rooms, pasta olive oil and tomato sauce left for our use, and we were told we could help ourselves to any vegetables from the vegetable garden.
  A lovely walk up over the hill through woods and grassy glades to Cevoli.
  The staff were friendly and very pleasant and attentive to all our needs.
  Private sitting out areas to the front and back with comfortable searing.

  The accommodation was perfect. So clean and beautifully decorated with soft furnishings and personable. We got a beautiful welcome pack, which was a great surprise and delight! Secure, private, and very safe for little ones and my elderly parent. The pool was cold in May but didn't put us off. There were toys and a children's area for playing with lovely walks around. It's just perfect.

Lovely clean swimming pool and garden areas to relax in both back and front of apartment. rear garden had comfy chairs and sun umbrella. Food welcome pack on arrival. Local area and activities explained on arrival by Reception.
