Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Central View Boutique? It’s tucked into this buzzing corner of San Lorenzo where you’ve got the leather market practically at your doorstep and the scent of fresh bread from the morning bakeries mixing with that distinctly Florentine smell of old stone and espresso. The building itself sits on Via dell’Ariento – honestly, most tourists rush past this street heading to the Duomo, but locals know this area is where the real Florence lives. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the covered market where nonnas still argue over the best tomatoes.
The hotel definitely feels boutique in the best way – not stuffy or trying too hard, but thoughtfully put together. The rooms have this warm, lived-in elegance that actually makes sense for Florence instead of feeling like generic luxury. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, which is pretty remarkable considering you’re smack in the middle of everything. The walls are thick (thank god for old Italian construction), and by around 10 PM when the market vendors pack up, there’s this lovely settled feeling to the whole neighborhood. The staff genuinely knows the area too – they pointed me toward this tiny osteria on Via Rosina that I never would’ve found otherwise, and when I mentioned wanting to avoid the Uffizi crowds, they gave me the perfect timing for slipping in through the lesser-known entrance.
What really sets this place apart is how it balances being central without feeling touristy. You’ll wake up to the sounds of real Florence – delivery trucks making their rounds, the coffee machine hissing at the bar downstairs, maybe some animated Italian conversation drifting up from the street. It’s authentic without being inconvenient, if that makes sense. Plus, parking is actually manageable here (ask them about the garage on Via Nazionale), and you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing. The San Lorenzo area gets overlooked by a lot of visitors who think they need to stay right by the Ponte Vecchio, but honestly? You’re getting better value, fewer crowds, and a genuine neighborhood feel. The 9.1 rating makes complete sense – this is the kind of place that gets the details right without making a big show of it.

Superb. Would highly recommend. – Pam from United Kingdom – 7 July 2025 (9/10)
This property was in a superb location for access to the main line railway station, tram system and tourist attractions. It was very easy to walk to everywhere we wanted to go during our stay. The room was spotlessly clean with a superb air conditioning system (and in temperatures of 35-38 degrees that was very much appreciated!) and the roof terrace was a lovely space for breakfast in the mornings and a drink in the evening. when it was (theoretically!) a bit cooler. Fabulous and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
What could be improved: The accommodation is up 60 + stairs without a lift so might not be suitable for everyone – but its an ancient building and you only have to carry your luggage up once. And, if it wasn't up a height there would be no view worth looking at from the roof terrace so its well worth the climb if you're fit enough.Exceptional – Mobammad from United Arab Emirates – 23 June 2025 (10/10)
Location 10/10, facility 10/10, hospitality 20/10.

What could be improved: NothingExceptional – Tomislav from Croatia – 19 June 2025 (10/10)
Fantastic location in center of Firenze, walking section, close stroll to Duomo, Uffizi, Galleria dell’ Accademia, Ponte Vecchio, and the train station, all the restaurants and cafes. Amazing rooftop terrace with the view of the city, great during the day and beautifully set up to enjoy the evenings. We came in early in the day and Ugo was extremely communicative and helpful, letting us leave the luggage immediately so we can go for breakfast, coming back for early check-in so we can enjoy the whole first day in the city. Ugo also shared with us several great restaurants, gelaterias, and places with a great view of the Firenze skyline. We managed to try many and they were all fantastic recommendations. The place was extremely clean and had all the modern amenities you need, plus the charm of living in the old city.
What could be improved: As many noted, this is on the 3rd floor, so if you have trouble walking up the stairs or have tons of heavy luggage, that might be a problem. We travelled light and had no problem walking up the stairs so it felt like we got a deal!Great place but abit hard with 3 flights of stairs.poor aircon in the room. – Amanda from New Zealand – 18 June 2025 (8/10)
Lived the central location esp near the market hall. Loved the roof top garden.
What could be improved: Poor air con in the room too hotExceptional – Nataliya from Russia – 15 June 2025 (10/10)
Our stay at Central View Boutique was really enjoyable! Very comfortable and beautiful apartment, there was all we need.
And the view from the roof was so beautiful.
Can’t wait to visit this beautiful place again!
What could be improved: There is no elevator, so it could be difficult to get your luggage on the 3rd floor.Great location, fab rooftop – Rogerosojo from United Kingdom – 3 June 2025 (9/10)
We were welcomed by Ugo who couldn't have been more helpful. The rooftop terrace was an unexpected delight. The room was cosy but well equipped and the shower was great. Really good location close to all the main attractions but surprisingly quiet.
What could be improved: You can't leave the aircon running if you take the keys so it takes a few minutes to cool the room when you get back. I would like to see a more robust fire escape plan but I guess that's common in many old Florentine buildings. Be prepared for a lot of stairs!Exceptional – Dimitar from Bulgaria – 1 June 2025 (10/10)
Amazing accommodation with attention to detail. Great location – walking distance to the railway sation and the key sights. Special thanks to Hugo for his hospitality and help to have lovely time in Florence!
Fantastic stay with very friendly hosts – Dave from United Kingdom – 30 May 2025 (9/10)
Gabriella made us feel so welcome . Lovely terrace and super friendly hosts
What could be improved: Being picky , the bathroom was a tad small for my tall frameExceptional – Lynne from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (10/10)
Beautifully presented room. So comfortable. Loved the coffee and tea, the water in the fridge. The rooftop is so beautiful with a view of the Duomo, Medici Chapel and Giotto's Bell tower. No need to find an expensive rooftop bar with a view, just grab a bottle of wine and you have your private rooftop. Also Gabriella was so helpful and friendly. Allowing us in early and leaving our cases after check-out made everything so easy. They felt like proper hosts. Couldn't have been lovelier.
What could be improved: Nothing, it was the perfect location.Exceptional – Amy from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (10/10)
Excellent location, big spacious room and Gabriella was the most welcoming host. Sent us many recommendations and showed us around when we first arrived, thanks so much! The rooftop is beautiful too, especially at night.
What could be improved: Not much of an issue for us but there are a lot of stairs if you struggle with that.
